The Union Public Service Commission conducts the civil services examination conducts Custom officer exam.

The eligibility criterion for the examination is graduation from a recognized university.
You must be between 21-30 years of age.

The Civil Services Examination comprises:
(i) Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT)
(ii) Civil Services Main Examination
(iii) Personality Test

If you wish to apply directly for a position as any customs officer jobs then you should ideally be educated to degree level, although it is rare to have the opportunity be able to apply directly.

An alternative way to get in is to apply for say a office based role like a administrator with in a customs department. Once you are employed there then apply for any customs vacancies that are advertised internally.

The starting salary for customs and excise jobs is in the region of �15,400 per annum, rising accordingly as they gain more experience and training.

You have to apply IRS exam to join Custom Department through UPSC.

IRS Stands for Indian Revenue Service This exam is conducted by union Public Service Commission and these examinations is conducted by every year. If you interest to apply this exam you should be have this eligibility's.


Eligibility Criteria For IRS Exam:-

You should be complete the bachelor degree or engineering Degree in any stream from recognized university and being final year student also eligible for this examination.

Your age should between 21 to 30 years and The Other Backward Caste candidate age limit should between 21 to 33 years and The Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste candidate age limit should between 21 to 35 years.


You should be citizen of India.

I'm a Bcom graduate. My age is 20 years. I want to know the procedure to apply for a job in customs. I've heard about UPSC exams but could not figure the exam I need to give for customs.
