ALL NCERT Books are compulsory for the preparation of UPSC EXams
For History you can follow the History books from class 6 to class 12.
It covers all the topics of history asked in UPSC.

Candidate must refer the NCERT Books alongwith other study material.# You should refer History books of NCERT from 6th standard to 12th standard.# You should also refer Geography books of NCERT from 6th standard to 12th standard.# You should also refer Economics books of NCERT of 11th & 12th standard.These above mentioned NCERT books must be studied. Please referred new edition of NCERT.New NCERT you will get updated and more precise information in a attrctive way. You may download them online.
NCERT class 9th & 10th for General Science and Economy and Class 11th & 12th(History,Geography and Indian Polity and Constitution)

For UPSC paper.. You have to get
History -- 8th to 12th
Geography -- 8th to 12th
Economics -- 11th and 12th.

It's not a problem if you have new version of this book.. but prefarably, if possible please buy old ones as in case of new books, many syllabus parts has been cut-off!

Could you please list me the NCERT books required for UPSC preparation?

List them subject wise if possible. Also please let me know if old/new editions need to be referred?
