Civil services examination is conducts by Union Public Service Commission once in every year.

Age Limit :

GEN : 21-30 years.
OBC : 21-33 years
SC/ST : 21-35 years.

Procedure :

>> Preliminary Exam
>> Main Exam
>> Interview

Number Of Attempts :

General candidate has 4 attempts to apply where as OBC candidate has 7 attempts to apply and SC/ST candidate has no limit to apply for same.

Prelims in May

Mains in October /November.

The criteria for appearing in UPSC is :
1. Nationality : Indian
2. Academic qualification : Graduate in any stream from any recognized university.

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC every year.

The eligibility c riteria prescribed by UPSC for IAS exam are -

The general age criteria to apply for IAS Exam is minimum 21 years and maximum is 30 years for general category candidates.

The age criteria is normal for both male and female candidates for general category, there is no special age relaxation for female candidates of general category or any other category.

There is upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates as follows:

3 years for OBC.

5 Years for SC/ST.

10 years for PWD/ Ex-service men.

The other criteria to be eligible to give this exam is any degree from recognized university.

And also, for general category there are only 4 chances to give this exam.

There is no age relaxation for general girl candidate.In I.A.S. exam the age limit is same for Boy/Girl.

• For IAS, you are required to appear in Civil services examination which is conducted by UPSC.
• There is no separate age limit for male and females, as such the age limit would be same for both male and female.
• The age limit stated for it is 21 years to 30 years.
• From the above upper age limit, the age relaxations is given to OBC students, sc/st students, physical handicapped students.
• Three years of age relaxations would be for obc students, five years for sc/st students and upto ten years for physical handicapped students.

The age limit for General category girls is same as General category boys.

There is no age relaxation on the basis of gender hence your age limit will be 21 to 30 years for the IAS exam.

Graduates in any discipline are eligible to apply for IAS/IPS exam.

Your age must be between 21 to 30 years if you are general category candidate.

Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for physically handicapped is available.

Number of attempts are limited for General and OBC category. SC/ST category don�t have any limit for attempts.

You can apply for IAS/IPS exam through UPSC website through online application.

The exam will be of 3 stages : Civil services aptitude test, Civil services mains and interview.

Those who qualify CSAT will be allowed to sit in mains and interview.

Age limitation criteria to apply for UPSC IAS exam 2013

The age limit is different for each and every category candidates and some reserved category candidates get relaxation in upper age as per government standards or guidelines so what should be your age to apply for IAS exam read below :

A general category candidate may apply for IAS exam till 30 years of age and may attempt only 4 times this exam means only 4 times you can apply for IAS exam

A OBC category candidate may apply for this exam till 33 years of age means 3 years upper age relaxation provided to OBC category and may apply for this exam only 7 times

A SC/ST category candidate may apply for this exam till 35 years of age means 5 years upper age relaxation provided to SC/STs and there is no limit to apply for this exam for SC/STs but after 35 years of age they also are not eligible to apply.

Educational Qualifications for UPSC IAS exam :

the upsc civil services exam is conducted by upsc every year.
the age limit to apply for this exam is 21 to 30 years .
this age limit is same for both males and females.

so the girls have graduation or engineering degree from a recognized university
can apply for the upsc civil services exam with same procedure as boys.

also the number of attempts they can make for this examination is also same.

7 attempts for OBC category
no limit for SC/ST category

dear aspirant the age limit to apply for the upsc civil services examination
is same for both males and females.

the age limit to apply for the civil services examination 21-30 years .
OBC and the SC/ST category aspirants are prior to have an
age relaxation of 3 and 5 years respectively.

physically handicap aspirant are given age relaxation of 10 years for this examination.
apart from that the government employees also age an
age relaxation of 5 years more for this exam.
