GATE and IES exams have same syllabus and also have same topics.
and also for that same books suggested for reference by the institutes.
so theire no need of different coaching for IES.

Syllabus wise both the exams have more or less same course content.But what varies is the pattern and level of question.There is a marked difference between the two.You can not say which one is tougher as both are at their peak.Coaching separately for IES is not required if you have built good concept in GATE coaching.That will be enough.What you need more is a good grasp over current affairs and general studies as ES is having that paper of 200marks.You can take some crash course for general studies or consult some good books about IES GS.That will be enough.Keep practicing more and more as ES have more direct questions based on your knowledge of concept rather than complicated questions.You can check the question papers at the website of UPSC.If you can solve some good part it will automatically boost your confidence. Gate and IES exam are different but they both are given by engineering graduates but GATE is conducted by IIT's and IES is conducted by UPSC and you may need to take different coaching for IES.

sir, i have taken coaching for gate exam. Now want to be an IES officer. syllabus for gate & ies are almost same. so Is there is need to again take ies coaching speacially??? plz give me suggestion & some motivation
