Sure Commerce candidates can also apply for the NDA and CDS exam. You can apply for the NDA exam after the Intermediate and You can apply for the CDS exam after the Graduation.

National Defence Academy

The candidates who will clear the Intermediate have the aim to join in the Indian Defence fields then such candidates can join by the NDA exam. The candidates must complete Intermediate from the recognized college or any equivalent examination

Age limit-19 to 22 years(at the time of commencement of the course) for NA,19 to 23 years(at the time of commencement of the course) for AFA,19 to 24 years(at the time of commencement of the course) for IMA,19 to 25 years(at the time of commencement of the course).

NDA & CDS EXAM ,both the exams conduct by upsc,held twice ina year.these exam are held for the recruitment of aspirants into different defense field.NDA AND CDS EXAM varies in their qualification required and age limit

NDA ELIGIBILITY=nda stands for national defense academy

-age limit=born between 2nd January, 1995 to 1st July, 1998 only are eligible for apply .

-educational qualification=inter or 12th passed

(as you said you commerce background,then you can apply for army wing though NDA EXAM)

-nationality=indian

-marital status=unmarried male only

-mentally and physically fit and fine

for nda exam
you should complete your 12 th if you join army other wise if you join ari force or navy than you pass your 12 th with pcm term with 50% marks
and you age between 16.5 to 19 only than you go for this exam .
if you go for cds exam you should pass your graduation
if you want to join army than your age between 19 to 24
if you want to join airforce than your age between 19 to 22
and if you want to join navy than your age between 19 to 23
the choice is yours

yes you can appear for the NDA and CDS exam even after having the commerce background.
All you need to do is be aware of the age limit for the respective exams.
The age limit for giving the NDA exam is 16.5-19 years of age while for giving the CDS exam, you need to be in between 19-24 years of age

Hi,

NDA stands for National Defense Academy and it is the entrance exam to enter into the field of civil services like Indian Navy,Indian Air Force and Indian Military.

NDA entrance exam can be done after 12th with any stream with at least 60% marks.

The Age limit for NDA is that your age should lies between 16.5 to 19 years.
UPSC - CDS - Combined Defense Services exams:

No there is no criteria for percentage marks to apply for and if you have a following eligibility then you can easily apply for CDS exam.

You should have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and you age should not be more than 25 years and lesser than 21 years

If you are pursuing the final year of degree or appearing for final year examination or awaiting for result of your graduation then also you are eligible to apply for CDS exam.

Those candidates who are having only a bachelor degree in any discipline are only allowed to appear for Indian Army posts but if the candidate having a degree with mathematics and physics as a compulsory subject then the candidate can apply for Indian Navy and Indian Air Force posts.

1.one should be between 19 to 24 yrs

Let me tell you the eligibility criteria of both examinations.

First one is the NDA that is National defense academy examinations.This examination is conducted twice every year by the UPSC.

Eligibility:

>>You must be 10+2 passed/appearing from a recognized board.If you are from science stream then you are eligible for the Airforce or Navy but if you are from streams other science then only eligible for the army.

>>The second most important criteria is age limit that is 16.5-19 years with no relaxations.

>>You must be an Indian citizen

>>You must be unmarried male candidate.

Examinations pattern:

Second one is the CDS that stands for the Combined defense service.It is also conducted twice every year like NDA and gives you chance to join the different academies of defense like IMA,INA,OTA etc.

But for this exam you need to have a bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university.Final year candidates are also allowed to appear for the examinations.

The age limit is :

IMA:19-24 years

INA:19-22 years

OTA:19-25 years.

You must be an Indian citizen.Both male and female candidates can apply for the exam.

Examination pattern:

After completion of 10+2 with the commerce stream,you are eligible for the NDA entrance examinations but for the CDS exam you must have bachelor's degree then only you will be eligible.

Indian Navy : A bachelor's degree in Engineering in any discipline from a recognized university and age should not be less than 19 years and more than 22 years

Indian Air Force : A bachelor's degree with mathematics and physics as a compulsory subject and any one of the biology/chemistry/computer science from a recognized university and age should not be less than 19 years and more than 23 years to apply

Dear as per your mentioned qualification you can apply for both NDA and CDS examination but only for - Indian Military Academy examination and not for Naval or Air force academy so that you should not worry about this examination and apply for IMA section in both exams and you may apply for these exams between these dates

In the 12th class you are elible for only National Defesne Services examination.
In NDA examiation you are eligible for Army catogory posts only becuse Navy and Air Force services must require Matjematics and Physics subjects.

The eligibility for the NDA exam is that you must have completed 12th class and your age must lies in between 16.5-19 years.

You can apply for the CDS exam after graduation.

Because the CDS exam is based on the graduation.For this your age must lies in between 19-24 years.

As you have completed +2 you are only ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR NDA ... NOT FOR C.D.S ...

Because


NDA --- 12th Qualification ( Age 16.5 - 19 )


CDS --- Degree Qualification ( age 19 - 24 )


So when you completed your degree then only you are eligible to apply for it


You must be an Indian Citizen

after 12th,you are not eligible for cds exam.

YES, you can appear in both the exams even after you have opted Commerce stream .
But in the NDA exams you would only be eligible to apply for the Army wing of the NDA
Age to apply for the NDA exams is between 16.5 to 19 years.

CDS exams which is also conducted by UPSC is held fro the below 4 wings of defence services
They are:
Airforce
Navy
Indian Military Academy
Officers Training academy

If you complete your graduation in Commerce, than you can only apply for the IMA and the OTA wing
Age to apply for the IMA wing is between 19 to 24 years
Age to apply for the OTS wing is between 19 to 25 years
