To become an IAS officer, you have to appear in the UPSC Civil services Exams Even if you are doing your graduation from Commerce you are eligible to apply for the UPSC Civil Services Exams Graduation pass in any stream can apply Final year candidates can also apply for the Prelims exams If you are a General Category candidates you just get 4 attempts Minimum age to apply is 21 years Maximum age to apply is 30 years In the Prelims there are two apapers and both are common for all the candidates In the Mains out of 7 papers 5 are common for all the candidates and paper 6 and 7 -you have to choose one subject from the list of Optional paper So prepare for the exams and you will succed if your preparations is good

Hello Friend, Don't worry,it is not true that a candidate can not become a IAS officer by choosing commerce stream . IAS officer is the most prestigious post of Govt. of India. UPSC conduct the IAS exam through civil service.To becoming an IAS officer it is necessary for a person to qualifying the entrance exam & secured a good rank. The Exam conducted by UPSC consist of 3 stages: 1.Preliminary Exam 2.Main Exam 3.Interview To become an IAS the aspirant merit in qualifying the exam with a good rank. Educational Qualification: For applying IAS exam the candidate must posses a bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized University. The students of final year degree course is also apply for the exam. So,according to the educational qualification Graduation is the minimum qualification required to apply for the exam.There is no percentage required to apply for the exam. So to become an IAS officer you have to write Civil Services Exam. no dear it is not true. any candidate who has done graduation in any stream with any subjects can apply for Civil Services Exam. so don't worry and prepare for the exam. Civil Services has three phase and you have to clear all the phase: 1. Prelims(CSAT) 2. Mains 3. Interview Scheme and subjects for the Preliminary and Main Examinations A. Preliminary Examination The Examination shall comprise two compulsory papers of 200 marks each. B. Main Examination The written examination will consist of the following papers: Paper-I Section 1 Essay 200 Marks Section 2 English Comprehension & English Pr�cis 100 Marks (Of Matriculation/ Xth standard level) Paper-II General Studies�I 250Marks (Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society) Paper-III General Studies �II 250 Marks (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations) Paper-IV General Studies �III 250 Marks (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management) Paper-V General Studies �IV 250 Marks (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude) Paper-VI Optional Subject � Paper 1 250 Marks Paper-VII Optional Subject � Paper 2 250 Marks Sub Total (Written test) 1800 Marks Personality Test 275 Marks. Many of my guardian says that "No one had become an IAS Officer by commerce stream, it's a little bit impossible by commerce stream" is that true? Is it not possible for me to become an IAS officer by commerce stream?
