Re: Are computer science engineers eligible for IES (Indian Engineering Services) entrance exam? dear aspirant, yes, sir computer science Engineers can also apply for IES exam. because according to eligibility criteria any candidate who have engineering degree in any discipline can apply for IES exam. but you are required to give the papers in any one of the following four streams. Civil Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Mechanical Engineering for appearing in exam you have to fulfill some other requirement like: >>Engineering degree in any discipline from recognized college or university >>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years . there is relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. Important Dates for upcoming Engineering Services Exam in 2013 : Date Of Notification - 06-04-2013 Last date for Receipt of application - 06-05-2013 Date of exam - 28-06-2013 You have to apply for the exam online on following official link of UPSC: http://www.upsconline.nic.in/ Good Luck......

Re: Are computer science engineers eligible for IES (Indian Engineering Services) entrance exam? yes computer science students are eligible for ies examination, since the eligibility required in this exam is an engineering degree in any stream from an ugc recognised engineering college. but there are only four optional subjects in this exam;- civil engineering mechanical engineering electrical engineering electronics and telecommunication engineering. all the best happy learning!!!!

But in the Indian engineering Services Exams (IES) -it is held for the Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Electronics streams only So while giviing the written exams you have to choose any one of the above streams Minimum age to apply is 21 years Maximum age to apply is 30 years this exam is held just once each year

IES stands for Indian Engineering Services. IES exam is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates in different services such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and electronics engineering. You just have to satisfy the eligibility criteria for IES exam mentioned below: - The candidate should have degree in engineering from university recognized by UGC. That's why engineers of all the discipline are eligible for IES Exam. - The age of candidate should be minimum of 21 years and maximum of 30 years to appear for the Exam. - The candidate should be Indian - A candidate can appear for a maximum of 4 times. - Reservation are applicable.
