You have to write either upsc or tnpsc exam n the age limit is 21 - 30. Age extents for sc/st by 5 years n for obc it's 3 years

If you want to join Customes Department than you hav eto appear in the SSC Combined Graduate Level exams

This exam is held in three stages-Tier1,Tier2 and Interview
Now the Next Tier 1 exams will be held in the year 2014

Graduates pass in any discipline can apply for this exams
No minimum marks is required in Graduation

Age-
Minimum 18 years
Maximum 27 years
OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations

dear aspirant

to get into customs department you have to write Civil Services Exam for IRS(Indian Revenue Service). where IRS is related to customs and Central Excise department. UPSc conduct the Civil Services Exam.

Levels Of Civil Services Exam:
1. Prelims(CSAT)
2. Mains
3. Interview
you have to clear all the levels of the exam if you want to get int IRS.

Scheme and subjects for the Preliminary and Main Examinations
A. Preliminary Examination
The Examination shall comprise two compulsory papers of 200 marks each.

B. Main Examination
The written examination will consist of the following papers:

Section 1 Essay 200 Marks
Section 2 English Comprehension

Eligibility Criteria For Civil Services:

>>you must have completed or appearing in final year of graduation.

>>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. there is relaxation in upper age limit up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.



Limit Number Of Attempts:

>>General category: 4 attempts

>>OBC category: 7 attempts

>>SC/ST category: No Limit

To join in Custom department jobs you must Graduate in any stream.

You have some ways to entre in Custom department field.by

UPSC Civil services.
SSC- Combined Graduate Level Examination.
