Because for apply IPS exam the minimum Education qualification is Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University. IPS stands for Indian Police Service. IPS exam is conducted by UPSC under Civil Services exam in every year. Eligibility criteria:- Candidate should be an Indian citizen. Candidate should be completed Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University. Age should be between 21 years to 30 years for General category candidates. Age relaxation for OBC category candidates 3 years And SC/ST category candidates 5 years. Number of Attempts:- General category candidates - 4 time OBC category Candidates - 7 time SC/ST category candidates - No limit. Best of luck.......

Forgiving the exam, you need to be a graduate or should be in final year of graduation in order to appear for the IAS exam. And as you are not in your final year and neither you have completed your graduation therefore you are not eligible

IAS Eligibility: **A Graduate from the recognized University in any discipline or a final year candidate from the recognized University in any stream can write UPSC IAS examination. So as per UPSC eligibility you can not appear because you are pursuing 1st year BSc.In order to appear UPSC IAS exam. complete your Graduate degree as soon as possible or become a final year degree (Graduate)student. When you appear in the final year then you are eligible for the exam. No bar for the percentage of the marks in the graduation. Age limit for the exam is 21 to 28 years. Dear friend, I am sorry to say but you can not appear for UPSC IPS exam as you do not fulfill the eligibility required by UPSC for IPS exam. Actually you should not say it as IPS exam. Because to enter into IPS you have to appear for civil services exam which is conducted by UPSC. The exam is conducted once in a year. The utmost requirement to appear for civil services exam is graduation from a recognised university from any stream. And you have not completed your graduation, so you can not appear for the Exam. I would advise you to first complete your graduation and then appear for the exam. Here below are the eligibility conditions:- >> You must be a graduate from a recognised university. >> You can also appear being in the last year. >> Stream does not matter. >> Also no restriction on percentage of marks. During your graduation years you can prepare for the exam and while you come in your third year i.e, last year you can appear for the exam fully preapred. Dear Aspirants , Sorry , for IPS exam candidate should be graduate from any recognized university and also can apply in last year of graduation. For that exam no percentage barrier , those candidates are also eligible which just have passing marks in graduation. Age Limit :- Candidate must be under 21-30 years , 3 years of age relaxation for BC candidates and 5 years of age relaxation for SC/ST candidates. You can apply for civil services examination in the last year of graduation. And also after graduation. YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE And you must have studied the GRADUATION And the minimum age must be 21 years You must be an INDIAN CITIZEN If you want you can start preparation When ever you complete Graduation ... or Final year of Graduation then you can apply for it VERY VERY GOOD LUCK

Age for this examination - 21 to 30 years. For this exam candidates must be Indian citizen otherwise candidates cannot apply. Two stages os IAS Examination - 1.Preliminary stage. 2.Main Stage. Since you do not satisfy the basic eligibility criteria for IPS exam which is graduation from university recognized by UGC. First of all i would like to correct your misconception,there is no UPSC IPS Exam but UPSC conducts the Civil Services Exam(CSE) every year. CSE is conducted to make recruitments to 24 services/posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS,etc. CSE is one of the toughest and most competitive exam at the All India Level. So you can start your preparation from now onwards if you aim to apply to CSE. No you cannot apply for the CSE while pursuing 1st yr B.Sc but you can apply when you are in final year of graduation. Eligibility For CSE : Age Limit : General category-21-30yrs on 1st August of the year of exam OBC-21-33yrs SC/ST-21-35yrs Educational Qualification : Graduation in any discipline from a UGC recognised University. No respected there is no rule under UPSC board that a first year pursuing candidate apply for IPS exam means as per board rules you are not eligible to apply for IPS - Indian Police Service exam and according to the eligibility criteria of UPSC board only those candidates who have completed their graduation or pursuing final year or appearing for final year exams or awaited for final year result from a recognized university may apply for this exam but you have not completed your first year of graduation so that you can not apply for this exam and age should not be lesser than 21 years and more than 30 years of the candidate and relaxation in age as 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD and 5 years for Ex-Servicemen candidates. You should complete your first and second year of graduation then you would be eligible to apply for IPS Exam and make yourself physically fit till final year and you must have medically fit and active also to apply for IPS exam. No, you can't give Indian police services i.e IPS exam while studying at first year of B.Sc.As per the criteria stated for it, you need to have completed the B.sc from an recognised university.If you are from an final year of b.sc, then as an provisional basis, you can appear in this examination but later you need to prepare proof of it.The minimum age is 21 years but the maximum age is 30 years, for obc category the maximum age is 33, for sc/st it's 35 years.You must be the citizen of India.

The basic academic eligibility criteria for the Civil services exam is bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university or you are in the final year of the graduation.
