Dear for your kind and exact information that if any IAS or IPS or IFS Officer try to start any side or part time business on his/her own then he/she can not do this because these ranks are for national service and government shortlisted you to serve the country because you deserve for that respect from the people of India and this will be completely unfair if any officer start own business to earn more because you have been posted to serve the country so your total concentration and dedication should only be based on the good of the country and your all efforts should only be for the country then nothing else so finally I would say that any IAS or IPS or IFS or IRS or IFoS officer can not start his/her own business, anywhere in the world

But if you get selected for this rank then only you will be restricted to start own business means your any family member except you so your any family member can start own business but there should be no investment of part in that business from your side otherwise that will be considered illegal and you may loose your job so you have to be careful at every single stage of your career and do not make this as big mistake that drop your career down

Salary of IAS Officers - Basically while joining the service on Junior Grade you will get paid

    >> 15600 to 39100 INR with 6600 INR as grade pay

When you will get administrative rank then your grade pay will be increased but basic will be same

    >> After getting posted for Selection Grade Officer - 37400-67000 INR with 8700 - Grade Pay

Grade payment will be decided more after being promoted from Selection Grade Officer

    >> After being promoted from Selection Grade Rank your payout will be 80000 consolidated (No Allowances and grade pays will be given to you)

    >> If you become cabinet secretary on the basis of your performance then your payment will be complete - 90000 INR but consolidated - No other allowances and grade pays

Retirement age of IAS Officers - Generally central government employees was decided to be retired at the age of 60 years before the last amendment but after that central government of India decided this age from 60 to 62 years means you will get retirement after completing 62 years of age

    All the best
