Re: Which book(s) should I follow for Combined Engineering Services Examination (Mechanical Engineering)?

Dear this is a very good time you have that you are pursuing 5th semester of B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering because after one year you will be graduated in this stream and eligible for IES 2014 so you should utilize this year in a right way by preparing for Indian Engineering Services Examination 2014. This upcoming IES should be your main target and forget everything and go for IES 2014 with successful completion of your graduation and try to get job just after being graduated from a reputed university

This is the time when you may not prefer any good coaching institute because your graduation study is only the line and you will have to takeout some time for IES 2014 everyday but scheduling time and following that everyday so you should buy some good books that are listed below for your concerned subject (Mechanical Engineering)

Arihant Publication - Chapter wise solutions for IES (Mechanical) - Objective and Conventional
Made Easy Publishers - Mechanical Engineering - IES - Objective with solved papers
GK Publications - Complete Guide for IES Paper I - General Ability Test
RPH Editorial Board - IES Mechanical - Objective and Conventional Paper Guide
Jagdish Lal Book for Mechanical Engineering
TATA McGraw Hill - Complete Study Guide for IES - Mechanical - Objective and Conventional Papers
IES - Mechanical Engineering Book by Dr. Ghosh and Malik
IES Manufacturing Technology by Dr. PN Rao
UPSC IES - Mechanical book by R. Yadav
CRC Handbook for all papers of IES Mechanical Engineering

You should make your separate time to prepare for this competitive examination and try to give at least 4 hours from your time for IES but do not start your study by giving four hours otherwise this will be uninterested for you and you may get under pressure while your graduation but after 1 month of study you can schedule 4 hours for IES preparation and read each book carefully to gain in depth knowledge of Mechanical Engineering

Do not forget to utilize your syllabus in preparation of this examination because most of the parts of syllabus are completely related to your syllabus of graduation so you have to prepare concentratively for semester examination because you will use that knowledge for IES and get advantage in examination

I have attached some previous years question papers and complete notification for this examination that will give you more knowledge about this exam so please download and also keep visiting at www.upsc.gov.in

    All the best
