CBI recruit Sub-Inspectors through Combined Graduate Level Examination conducted by Staff Selection Commission.

Required physical standards

1)Height: 165cms for men
150cms for women

2)Chest:76cms with expansion(only for male candidates)

3)Vision: (with or without glasses)
Distant vision : 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.
Near vision:0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye.

for the posts in CBI candidates are required to be Physically and Mentally Fit. In CBI candidates have to deal with crimes and they should be fearless.

Physical Requirements:


Height:- Male 165 cm & ST(not for SC and OBC) 160 cm.
Female 150 cm & ST(not for SC and OBC) 145 cm.
Chest:- Male minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Female minimum 79 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Eye Sight:- 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good Eye
6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
Near Vision J1 for Good Eye and J2 for worst eye.
