Re: Is mass communication a valid graduation course for Civil Services Examination?

Definitely you can appear. There is no such restriction on the stream of Graduation for appearing in the Civil services. But your graduation degree should be a minimum 3year course and from a recognised University whichever stream you are choosing. So Mass communication does not have any problem regarding validity of course. You may get confused in choosing the optional subjects for mains but that is a common problem for nearly 60% of the Civil service aspirants.Go for your degree. All the best

Yes dear definitely you can appear for civil service examination after completing bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university because this is the minimum required qualification for this examination which can not be avoided so that you should think about your preparation for this examination and just complete your graduation and if you have some time then you should join any good coaching institute and start your preparation for UPSC civil service examination because if you will prepare for this exam before completing your graduation then nothing will be better for you than this preparation strategy and give more and more time for this because this is your goal not completing graduation so just try to give at least 6 hours everyday only for preparation and focus on those subjects which are tough in this examination

I have attached complete notification for this examination which is announced by UPSC board and you will get all details about this exam as syllabus, examination pattern and selection procedure for this exam so please download and get more details
