It is not possible to become IPS officer after Diploma in Computer Engineering.


To join IPS exam;-

You should be graduate in nay discipline in any recognised university in India

Sorry man diploma holders cannot apply for the IAS examination or IPS examination because it require graduation in any discipline from a recognised university.
So it will be better for you to take the lateral entry in the graduation so that you can save your one year and then apply for the Civil services examination after the completion of the graduation.
Here is the eligibility criteria for the civil services examination given below.
It is the examination which is condudted once in a year to select the candidates for the highest level of the post in the civil sector.
So you must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university to apply for the same.
Your age needs to be 21 to 30 years of age.
There will be the age relaxation for the candidates having the following category as follows-
For SC./ST 5 years.
For OBC 3 years.
For ex servicemen 5 years.
For defence personel who get handicapped during war 3 years.
There will be two stages in the examination and these are as follows-
CSAT civil services aptitude test.
It consist of 2 papers of general studies each consist of 200 marks so the total will be 400 marks.
Second step will be the MAINS examination, you can only go for the mains exam if you have qualified the pre examination that is CSAT.
There will be total 9 papers in the mains examinatiopn and that will consist of 2000 marks.
After you qualify the Mains examination then you will be called for the interview and that will be of 300 marks so the total marks will be 2300.
If you qualify the interview as well then merit will be prepared and you will be selected after that.

and your age between 21 -- 30

No

you can not become the IPS officer after Diploma.
For IPS exam you must have at least bachelor degree from a recognized university and your age must lies in between 21-30 years.
So you can apply for IPS exam after graduation.

You must have a minimum of GRADUATION from a recognized university

So you need to study for the Bachelor Degree


The GRADUATION may be of any stream

The minimum age must be " 21 " years


Maximum age is allowed up to " 30 " years //

There will be relaxation for the reserved candidates


You must be an Indian Citizen

No you can not appear for IPS exam after Diploma.You need to have passed Graduation minimum to be eligible for the exam of Civil services or Limited IPS exam.You can not apply after Diploma.Your PUC will not count as you are already Diploma pass which is equivalent to the former.The age limit for applying in Civil services exam is 21-30years.Complete your B.Tech through lateral entry from regular college or through AMIE and you will be eligible for UPSC exams.

Dear friend,

IPS stands for Indian police Services comes under civil services.

For civil services exam minimum qualification is required that candidate must be passed his/her graduation from any recognized university.

So, after diploma you are not eligible for civil services examination.

Age Limit :

Candidate must be under 21-30 years.
3 years of age relaxation for BC candidates and 5 years of age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

Number Of Attempts :

GEN : 4
BC : 7
SC/ST : No Limit

Actually diploma is not considered as a degree.. So I'm afraid you should complete degree before you apply for IPS and also check your age limit before applying.

It is good to have a dream to join INDIAN POLICE SERVICE but to be eligible for that you must have to fulfill all the

criteria given below , and if you are not fulfilling the criteria even a single criteria than you will not be called eligible for the same.

Eligibility criteria :-


there are only two basic requirements in this criteria.


1. the candidate must be a graduate from a govt. recognized university

2. the candidate must a graduation degree holder .


Age criteria :-


1. the candidate must be in between 21-30 years to be eligible for the examination.

2. the age relaxation of 3 years is given to the obc candidate.

3. and 5 years of age relaxation is provided to the sc/st category.


so here as you see that the educational qualification for the civil services examination is graduation ,so you are not eligible for the

same because you are not a graduate ..so dear aspirants I advised you to first complete your graduation and then you will be eligible

for the same ,it is not too late for you you can do graduation with a govt. recognized university.



to increasing your knowledge about the examination you should see the only restriction of no of attempts in the examination.


No of attempts:-


1. for general category- only 4 attempts are allowed.

2. for obc category :- 7 attempts .

3. sc/st category:- no restriction.
