Re: Any rough figure on total expenses for a serious IAS aspirant? Can a lower middle class candidate attempt this option? Dear actually there are so many coaching institutes in India for IAS examination but some of them only provides better study and gives selection and some of them are just passing the time and earning the money and if you wants to get the job and final selection then you will have to join a top rated coaching institute i.e. - Vajiram and Ravi IAS Studies Circle, Chanakya IAS Study Center, Sachdeva New PT College, Reddy's IAS, Rau's IAS Study center etc. and if you analyze about the fee structure of all these coaching institutes then you will not find out any coaching demands more than 1 lakh and 50000 INR for the entire study where the fee structure in some other coaching institutes keeps about 40-50000 INR for complete study According to this fee they will provide you following facilities : 1. year Complete Course for Both Prelims and Main Examination 2. Speed Test and Practice Test Facility 3. Library Facility 4. Monthly and Yearly Magazines with Daily News papers 5. Previous years and Model Question papers 6. Printed and Solved notes for all subjects that you will demand for 7. Revision classes by experts 8. Motivational and Personality Development Program approval 9. Discussion Facility with Teachers and faculties over studies 10. 24X7 support in study and all the updates about examination at your Email And there are some other facilities but you just have to care over these and get admission in good institute A middle class student may also complete this course because there are so many schemes of government running and being managed in India under which you may take loan for study and payment facility is only after getting the job and another way that there are some states in India which provides free of cost study for state PSC and UPSC exams so you may register yourself there and get completed but only for OBC, SC and ST category candidates not for general Coaching institute will give you around 7-8 hours everyday to study in coaching institute and after that you have to cover all the syllabus and study according to their instructions that is why if you think that you can afford then you should take admission or if you wants to prepare at your home then you should buy some good books and take guidance of any successful person of IAS exam and start preparation but practice can be done only in coaching under guidance so you may register for practice in about 15-20000 INR for best and lifetime approval practice All the best
Re: Any rough figure on total expenses for a serious IAS aspirant? Can a lower middle class candidate attempt this option? Hey There is no high expenses in the IAS exam. If you belongs to general or OBC category then there is 100 rupees registration fee for the IAS exam. If you belongs to SC/ST category then there is no registration fee for you. There is very few expenses in the IAS exam. The expenses in the IAS exam is when you take the coaching for the exam. Upto one lakh rupees can be the cost of coaching of the IAS exam in the best institute. So it depends upon you that do you want to take coaching for that or not? Thank you.
Re: Any rough figure on total expenses for a serious IAS aspirant? Can a lower middle class candidate attempt this option? Actually there is nothing to spend but you have to sit and work for preparation so for that you need to work hard. So you can't concentrate on anything if you are in a job especially... So you have to coach yourself according to your capacity by joining coaching which will take hardly 500 or thousand per month and books are available online. If you have net facility you don't even need coaching. So it depends on you how serious you are for preparing for UPSC.
