Hello friend,


you should never keep any doubt for your candidature in upsc civil services examination because the distance degree holder are also eligible for applying and sit in the examination.

so just don't take any stress and try to concentrate on your preparation for the examination.

actually there is no any restriction of this type. so you are allowed to sit but you should always keep in mind that you university must be govt. recognized from where you had obtained your degree.

you must have the other essential qualification to be eligible for the examination .

Eligibility criteria:- you must fulfill this criteria as being civil services examination candidate.

this criteria contains some requirements as shown below.

Education required:- the candidate must be graduate from a govt. recognized university.

Nationality:- Must be Indian.

Age requirement:- must be in 21-30 y.

for obc:- 3 yrs age relaxation.

for sc/st:- 5 yrs relaxation.

No of attempts:- for general category: 4 .

for obc category:- 7 .

for sc/st category:- no limit.

yes, sir you eligible to apply for Civil Services exam after completing graduation from recognized university through distance mode.

for Civil Services you are required only graduation in any discipline. there is also no bar of percentage of marks.

you can also apply for the exam while pursuing in final year of graduation.

for Civil services your age should be within the limits of 21 years to 30 years. there is also applicable relaxation in upper age of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

you can do graduation in any stream but the thing you need to clear your basic concepts and prepare well for the exam because there are large number of aspirants participate in the exam.

Civil Services exam is conducted for the posts of IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS etc.

From a recognized university of Tamil Nadu you have done graduation.
But it is from distance mode.
You have confusion about distance mode.
But you have not to worry.
It is allowed in IAS exam that any graduate from distance mode, private or regular all are eligible for this exam.
As they must have studied it from recognized college or university.
Age limit: 21 to 30 years.

Friend, please note that# There is no any doubt over your candidature for UPSC Examination. # Merely any bachelor degree is the only requirement for UPSC Examination. Candidate is not compelled for any percentage marks in that bachelor degree. # Most important thing is that the university which is granting you that bachelor degree must be recognised by UGC. # It does not affect that whether the bachelor degree is obtained through regular mode or correspondence mode.# If a candidate is graduated in any stream is eligible for UPSC Examination irrespective of nature and mode of degree obtained.# Moreover, candidate must be above the age of 21 years.# Maximum or upper age is different for different category such as 30 years for General category, 33 years for OBC category, 35 years for SC/ST category, 40 years for PWD category.

Well you are eligible for writing civil service exams conducted by UPSC.

UPSC stands for Union Public Service Comission.

The Degree from which you get the Certificates must be RECOGNIZED from a recognized university


So the University must be Recognized


Even though you studied in the Distance Mode you are definitely eligible to appear for the exam


You must have a Bachelor Degree ... that you have already

The stream may be anyone


You must not have any Backlogs

You must be Physically fit and Mentally Good

Dear Friend,

Yes , you are eligible for civil services exam

For civil services examination candidate must be graduate from recognized university and also can apply in last year of graduation.

It does not matter that in which fields you are doing your graduation only you must be graduate.

For that examination no percentage is required , if candidate just have passing marks in graduation are also eligible.

Candidate must be under 21-30 years.
