    upsc stands for the union public service commission. This is the commission set up the government of india which is responsible for the conductance for various competition examination for the government officials post.
    And IAS on the other hand is the part of this commission, the IAS exam is also been conducted by the upsc only in which the government officials for the administration services are selected

    UPSC is not a exam this is a commission which conduct many exam.

    UPSC CONDUCTS VARIOUS EXAM IN ORDER TO SELECT THE ELIGIBLE CANDIDATE THROUGH THE ENTRANCE EXAM,

    AND ONE OF THE ENTRANCE EXAM CONDUCT BY UPSC IS "CIVIL SERVICE EXAM" WHICH INCLUDE RECRUITMENT FOR IAS,IPS etc

    IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services.

    IAS exam conducted by UPSC under Civil Services Exam.

    UPSC stand for Union Public Service Commission.It is the organisation of Govt.Of India which conduct all UPSC exams like IAS/IPS/IRS/IES/IFS/NDA/SCRA/CDS.

    IAS(Indian Administrative services) entrance examination is conducted by UPSC.
    every year.

    Now you are clear there are multiple entrance examinations one of them is IAS which is conducted by UPSC like other exams conducted by UPSC.

    No these are the different things let me explain you the same.
    UPSC stands for the union public service commission and IAS stands for the indian administrative service.
    IAS are selected through the civil services examination and the civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC, so i think you are now have the clear picture of the same in your mind, because many people have some misconception regarding the UPSC/IAS and civil sevrices examination.
    So if anybody ask you the same then you can able to give the answer for the same.

    It is a body which conducts examinations for top services such as CSAT,CDSE,NDA,IES,IES/Statistical,SCRA.

    UPSC conducts exam
    CSAT-Civil Service Aptitude Test
    In CSAT there are many services like
    1)IAS
    2)IPS
    3)IRS
    4)IDAS
    5)IRS(I.T)
    6)IOFS
    7)IRTS
    8)IDES
    9)ITS
    10)ICLS

    many more UPSC conducts all these exams under the name CSAT.

    IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services and UPSC stands for Union PUblic Service Commission .

    UPSC conducts many exams such as IES , Civil services , NDA , SCRA , CDS

    IAS is an officer level post comes under civil services , For that you give civil services exam.

On the other hand, IAS means Indian Administrative Service.# UPSC is a statutory government body which conductd various examination of both under-graduate level as well as graduate level.# IAS Examination, IPS Examination, IRS Examination are comes under CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION which is also conducted annually by UPSC.# If a candidate want to be an IAS Officer, he must have to crack Civil Service Examination.# Following required conditions for Civil Service Examination are: * Indian National. * Graduate in any discipline * Age limit of 21-30 years * Must have good moral character. * Must not have any criminal record. * Must not be insane or mad.

    Actually IAS is a service among the several services available in Civil services... UPSC is union public service commission which conducts these examinations for civil service and recruit people for various post according to their ranks.

    IAS comes under civil services , civil services exam is conducts by UPSC once in every year.

    So, we can not compare between IAS and UPSC because UPSC conducts many exams civil services exam is one of them.

    So, UPSC is not an exam , it conducts various exams.

    yes dear there are a lot of difference. we can say that CSAt is the subset of UPSC.

    UPSC is not a exam this is a commission which conduct many exam for 12th passed and graduate and post graduate candidate. in these exams one of them is CSAt exam which is also known as CSAT exam.

    I think you are confused with the UPSC and IAS things. For your information I must tell you that UPSC is Union Public Service Commission. This is an organization which conducts Entrance exams all through out the year for various posts.

    Some of the entrances are :

    NDA, CDS, SCRA, IAS, IPS, SSC, IES, etc..

    So as you can see, IAS - Indian Administrative Services is another such Entrance exam which is conducted and organized by the UPSC.

    So its often said to be the Civil Services Examination or the UPSC Examination.

    UPSC stands for union public service commission whereas IAS is the Indian administrative services.

    UPSC is the examination conducting body which organises the various examinations like:

    Upsc Stands for the Union Public Service Commission who is conducting the civil services

    Exam for the posts like IAS,IPS,IES,IFS,CMS

    IAS Stands for the Indian Administrative Service

    IPS Stands for the Indian Police Service

    IFS Stands for the Indian Foreign Services

    IES Stands for the Indian Engineering Services

    CMS Stands for the Common Medical Services Exam

    And these all exams are coming under the upsc and also IAS

    So Ias is a part of the upsc

    And upsc is conducting a exam civil services for the post

    upsc is exam conducting body which take exam and IAS is post which get after clear civil services exam .
    Civil Service Examination has three stages

    No, both the UPSC and IAS are different things.The UPSC stands for Union Public Service Commission which only conducts the various open competitive examination for the post of central Government. The IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. This IAS is a post which is included in CSAT examination, conducted by the UPSC. The UPSC conducts the CSAT examination for IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS etc. Best of Luck

    generally civil services exams are considered as upsc exams

    and if you want to become an IAS than you have to give the civil service examination.

    there is no any special examination for ias but there is a commen exam for all civil services in which ias is one them.

    The preliminary exams are conducted in May.It is followed by the Mains exams which are conducted in October-November.Only candidates who qualify the preliminary exams proceed to the mains.Interviews is final selection obstacle,only for those who qualify the mains.

    -The COMPLETE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for the exams are mentioned below ::
    01. NATIONALITY.
    You must be a citizen of INDIA,
    or,You must be a subject of NEPAL or BHUTAN,
    or,You must be a TIBETAN refugee settled permanently in INDIA before 1962.


    02. AGE LIMITS.
    You must be 21 To 30 years of age.
    However,the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST & Ex-servicemen and by 3 years for OBCs and Physically Handicapped.


    03. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.
    You must have completed your Graduation or equivalent,from a recognized university with any subject or stream.
    Final year students are also applicable.
    ONLY PASSING PERCENTAGE IS REQUIRED.


    04 NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS.

    For OPEN category : 04
    For OBC candidates : 07
    For SC/ST candidates : UNLIMITED.
