IPS-Indian Police Service is a civil service.

The selection and examination procedure is done by UPSC.

Like IPS,there are many other civil services that is IAS,IFS,IRS etc.

All this civil services are conducted by UPSC only.

In fact all this civil services are conducted under the name of one that is CSAT.

CSAT-Civil Service Aptitude Test.

It is only the ranking that decides that what service will be provided to which candidate.

But all the civil services are conducted through one name CSAT.

Now CSAT dates for year 2014 as 2013 is already taking place.

One can not apply now for CSAT.

CSAT notification date-17/5/2014.
CSAT last date of submitting form-16/6/2014.
CSAT exam date-24/8/2014.

Dear, Notification for form fill up will come in November to december and then the Further Examination process wil start,

hi friend,

to get in to the indian police service you hve to write the civil services examination conducted by the union public service commisiion.this exam is conducted once evry year.this examination is a three stage process comprising of prelims,mains,personality test etc..you have to clear all the stages of the exam at once to get in to the service which ever you wanted.

in the mains form you have to indicate the service preference a sone to ips to get in to the ips.

foe this year the examination has alraedy been conducted.you can appaer in the next year's examination which is scheduled for 24th august 2014.make sure you are eligible by checking the criteria described in the detailed notification the commission publishes every year. as far as the ducational qualification is concerned you have to hold a abachelore degrr and you should not be more than 30 years of age if you belong to the general category

Dear IPS - Indian Police Service Test is under Indian Civil Service Examination and for your kind information that Indian Civil Service Preliminary Examination has been conducted at 26-05-2013 and main examination papers will be started from 1st of December 2013 so you have no chance to apply for this year's IPS examination but this examination conducted once a year that is why you should prepare for IPS Examination 2014 and apply for upcoming

Till that announcement, you should not waste your time and join any good coaching institute to prepare for this test because coaching institute will help you in upliftment of your knowledge and study level for this examination because you are a fresher and wants to become an IPS Officer so coaching institute will guide you from starting and will make your base stronger than others that is necessary for you so find out a good institute and get registered

Make a personal schedule of your preparation because coaching institute will give you about 6-8 hours everyday so you also should try to give about 5 hours everyday for revision and extra study so you could give about 12 hours everyday only for study and then keep yourself fresh for further learning and if you will follow the same schedule including practice then you will get qualified in this examination

the IPs exam is conducted by the union public service commission, upsc, every year in the month of may. the date is not fixed but the exam is always conducted on sundays, and is generally conducted in the month of MAy. for more details about the dates and the notifications, you should regularly be in touch with the official website of the upsc.
