Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT) has been brought by the UPSC in the civil services preliminary examination by replacing the optional paper in order to check candidates aptitude for civil services.The examination paper consists of question on English Comprehension,Logical Reasoning,Verbal Ability and Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation.The syllabus mentioned by commission is mentioned
Paper II- (200 marks) Duration: Two hours
1)Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
2)Logical reasoning and analytical ability
3)Decision-making and problem-solving
4)General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level),
5)Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)
6)English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level).

See the there will be paper 1 also that will be on General studies.Both the papers are of objective type and of two hours duration.

hi friend,


for csat the examination will be held on the same day and you have to appear two papers on the same day.

for paper I it is a general studies paper.here you have to prepare well the subjects like polity,history,science and technology,economics,indian constitution,governance issue,current affairs etc..

for paper 2 you have to prepare the aptitute,english comprehension,data interpretation,reasoning,decision making etc..

both of the papers will be objective type and you have to have vast knowledge in order to qualify for this examination.

since this year's exam is over you can prepare for the next year's exam which is scheduled to be held on 24th of august.the whole examination process will take one year to complete.

the present pattern came in to effect from the year 2011 onwars .generally the competition is very tough to clear the prelims.

CSAT Exam Contains Two Papers, Each of 200 Marks.

And all Question are of Objective type.

Paper-I General Studies and Current Affairs

Paper-II General Aptitude

For General Category Combined score of Both Paper is must be 50% to get Select for Mains Exam.

>> CSAT Exam in Taken to Select Candidates for Mains Exam.

>> You can give Following times Attempt according to Category:

General Category: 4 Attempts

OBC: 7 Attempts

PH: 7 Attempts

SC/ST: No Limits

>> About Preparation:

There are many other study material that are important in CSAT Exam.

Like:

History,

Sociology.

Geography,

Indian Constitution,

English.

>> But Sociology is important then all other and has large data.

>> So If you want to Give Civil Service Exams like IAS,CDS then you must have deep knowledge of Sociology.

>> You can prepare for it by referring books of Standard 7 to 12th of NCERT.

>> Watch News On TV Daily in English.

>> Regular Reading Of Magazine like Chronicle, Kurukshetra, Yojana and India Today.
