for getting the indian police service examination conducted by upsc every year, you need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria. the criteria states that you should be graduate in any stream from a recognised indian university and it should not be less than 21 years .maximum age is different for different categories, if you belong to the general categories the maximum age limit for giving the exam is 30 years.
For obc category, maximum for giving the exam is 33 years where as for the sc/st category, the maximum age for giving the exam is 35 years.

for joining IPS(Indian Police Services) you have to first off all clear prestigious Civil Services Examination held by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission).

There are some eligibility criteria for appearing this exam:-
