    Hi...friend

you do not bother about percentage of marks that you can get

Why because upcs wants only graduates

with any percentage in any stream(ece, cse,it,eee, mec, civil)

    from any university

So do not worry about it just concentrate on your studies

Coming to preparation while your studying your b.tech is..

Daily stay with upsc books with 1 or 2 hours

One more thing is to say is...there is no comparison between your b.tech

    subjects

and upsc syllabus ...it is entirely different

Grip the knowledge about indian history, polictics and economy

These are the main thing that they can ask more questions

    any way friend good luck...

How To Prepare for IPS Exam:
first and most important Manage your Time table and maintain your self calm and Cool.
go ahead according to UPSC IPS Syllabus.
you can start for IPS Exam by studying 6th to 12th NCERT books.
