Dear Friend

I think you are not aware about the Engineering services examination which is also called Indian Engineering services exam.It is held every year by the UPSC.

Let me aware you about the IES exam eligibility as well as paper pattern:

>>Any candidate who has done bachelor's degree in engineering or technology from a recognized university is eligible for the IES exam irrespective of the stream or discipline of engineering.

But there is a condition that the exam is conducted in only four streams :

>>Civil engineering

>>Mechanical engineering

>>Electrical engineering

>>Electronics and communication engineering

So being a chemical engineer,you will have to give exam in the above streams .you can select one of them as per your interest .Hence there is no question paper pattern for the chemical engineering for the IES .

The general paper paper pattern that is valid for all streams is :

Now discussing about other criteria :

>>The age limit is 21-30 years with age relaxation applicable to the obc and sc/st candidates .

>>You must be Indian citizen.

>>There are only four attempts for the general and seven for the obc and no limit for the sc/st candidates.
