You can join the defense service through NDA and CDS exam which is conducted by the UPSC.

For the NDA exam you should be minimum Intermediate qualified.

age should be 16.5 to 19 years

Only unmarried male candidates can apply for NDA exam.



For CDS exam you should be graduate in any stream from recognized university

age should be between 19 to 25 years

no age relaxation applicable

You can join Indian army through NDA or CDS exams.

Eligibility criteria for NDA is:-

He must be in between 16.5-19 years.
The candidate must be an indian citizen.
The candidate must be an unmarried male.
The candidate must be passed/appeared in 12th Science with a recognized university.
The candidate must be medically fit.


Selection process:-

1. written test - objective.
2. ssb interview.- vocal .
3. medical test.

The written paper consists:-

1. MATHEMATICS :- 300 marks.
2. GENERAL ABILITY:- 600 marks.

You have to pass all the sections then only you can get a job in NDA.


For CDS exam:-

Eligibility Criteria For cds examination:-

The candidate should be citizen of india
The candidate age should between 19 to 25 yrs.
The candidate should be complete the degree with recognized university.
The candidate should be medically fit.

There is no percentage barrier in order to appear in the Combined defence services (CDS) examination.
You just need to have passing marks in graduation to appear for this exam.
CDS exam is conducted for various:-
Indian army
Indian navy
Indian air force
Indian officer training academy.

For Indian army and Indian officer training academy, you need to have graduation degree in any stream from an recognised university.
And for Indian navy and Indian air force, you need to have graduation degree in science stream.

If you are undergraduate then you can apply for NDA & NA Examination.
NDA & NA is conducted by UPSC twice a year for the recruitment of candidates in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force wings of NDA.

The eligibility criteria for NDA & NA Examination are as follows:
Age Limit
The candidate should be of the age in between 16.5 to 19 years.
Marital Status
The candidate should be unmarried.
Nationality
The candidate should be Indian.
Educational Qualification
For Army: 12th appearing or 12th class pass of 10+2 of school education pattern or equivalent examination conducted by State Education Board or University.

I will give you full details about minimum to maximum age required for joining army.

Indian Army Soldier -
Age - 17.5 to 21 years.
Qualification - Candidates must be passed 10th.

Army Trademan -
Age - 18 - 23 years.
Qualification - 10 th passed.

National Defence Academy -
Age - 16.5 to 19 years.
Qualification - Intermediate passed.

Technical Entry Scheme-
Age - 16.5 to 19.5 years.
Qualification - 12th passed with science stream.

Combined Defence Services-
Age - 19 to 25 years.
Qualification - Graduation degree of any stream.

There are two direct ways to go into the Indian army which are following :

1. NDA - National Defense Academy : This exam is conducted by the UPSC board and to apply for this exam candidate should have passed 12th class in any discipline from a recognized university and candidate's age should not be less than 16.5 years and more than 19 years

2. CDS - Combined Defense Services : This exam is conducted by the UPSC board and if you are interested to go through this exam then you should have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% marks and 45% marks in case of SC/STs and age of the candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 25 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines.

If you want to crack these exams then you should command over following subjects :

1. Mathematics or Quantitive Aptitude

2. Reasoning Ability

3. General English

4. General Knowledge

There are 3 basic entry schemes in the Indian Army. They are :-

NDA 1 - National Defense Academy
NDA 2
CDS - Combined Defense Services

The age limits for the NDA exams are 16.5 to 19 years.

>>> Only Unmarried male candidate are eligible for this Examination .

>>> Your age should be 19 years to 24 years

>>> Final year candidate may also eligible to apply for this Examination

Age limit : Between 16.5 years to 19 years of age. UPSC conducts NDA ( national Defence academy ) exams twice in a year in the month of April and August. The candidate has to successfully pass the examination. For joining Indian Army , one has to pass 12th grade with any stream. Nationality should be Indian. Marital status should be unmarried. You should not have any physical disability. Minimum height : 160 cms
Minimum weight : 50 kgs. Any qualification with 60% on aggregate will be eligible .

age must be between 18 years to 42 years.STILL thr is a Cutoff date for determining age limit would be n also Age Relaxations will be extended as per Govt. rules..

you can join Indian Army by the following exams:
1. NDA:
Age limit: 16 to 19 and 1/2
Educational Qualification: 12th passed from any recognized university or organization.

2. CDS:
Age Limit:21 to 24 years
Educational qualification: Graduate from any recognized university or organization.

there 3 ways of joining indian army

2 ways are common for all streams candidates while 3rd way is meant only for the particular specialisation which is of NON-UPSC TYPE.

NOTE:- BOTH CONDUCTED BI-ANUALLY

1. NDA (10+2 ENTRY LEVEL OF ANY STREAM)
AGE LIMIT 16.5-19 YEARS

2.CDSE (ENTRY FOR THE UNIVERSITY GRADUATE IN ANY STREAM)
A) FOR IMA AGE LIMIT 19-24 YEARS
B) FOR OTA AGE LIMIT 19-25 YEARS

There are two ways to join army ie. NDA & CDSE exam conducted by UPSC.

Basic eligibility required for NDA are:
- You are eligible for NDA after 10+2 exam.
-only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
-candidates appearing in 12th class can also apply.
- Age : From 19 Years to 24 years. Engineer graduates 20 to 27 years
- Degree. BA, B.Sc or B.Tech/BE

Eligibility Criteria for I.M.A in CDSE :-

Age should be between 19 years and 24 years and only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
Graduation in any desire subject from any recognized university or equivalent qualification.
Candidates who are appearing in the final year of degree course can also apply for this examination.
