REQUIREMENTS-

• Candidate must be passed there graduation from any recognized university , And also can apply in last year of graduation.
• Candidate must be under 21-30 years, 3 years age relaxation for BC candidate and 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidate.
• Candidate must be Indian civilization.
• General candidate has 4 attempts to apply. BC candidate has 7 attempts to apply and SC/ST candidate has no limit to apply.

For IES you write in IES entrance exam which conducts by Union Public Service Commission.

For IAS::

UPSC board conduct separate exams for both of the IAS and IES and the details are following :

1. IES : Indian Engineering Services : If you want to apply for IES exam then you should have following eligibility

>> A bachelor's degree in engineering in any one of the following disciplines from a recognized university :

3. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
4. Mechanical Engineering

Paper Pattern for IES exam : There would be 5 papers conducted by UPSC board for IES services and 3 papers would be conducted in preliminary exam and other 2 papers would be conducted in mains exam and first three papers would be in objective type pattern and other two would be conventional papers and each paper contains 200 marks so the grand total becomes 1000 + 200 marks for interview process and qualifying in every step or paper is necessary then you would be called for interview process.

Basic eligibility required for all UPSC exams:
-The candidate must be the citizen of India.
-The candidate should be minimum 21 years of age and the maximum age is 29 years.
-The candidate should have a degree completed from any of the institutes established by an Act of Parliament or any University deemed by the University Grant Commission under section 3, Act, 1956.

IAS : You have to first complete your graduation and then have to sit for the upsc conducted civil services prelims exam qualifying which you will have to sit for the mains exam and againqualifying which you will be called for personal interview.If you qualify here too,the job is yours!

IES : You have to have a B.Tech degree in either Electronics/Mechanical/Electrical or Civil stream to sit for this exam.This comprises of objective general studies paper and subject paper and then subjective paper of respective engineering subject qualifying which you will be called for personal interview.And here too,if you qualify,you get the job.

dear friend IAS(indian administrative services) and IES(indian engineering services) both these exams are of utmost value in our country and so both these exams are conducted by the upsc to be eligible you have to be graduate or in the final year of graduation for IAS and for IES you must have completed your engineering in civil.electrical,mechanical or must be in final year of engineering .The age limits for both the jobs are same and those are 21-30 for general,21-33 for obc and 21-35 for sc/st so if you satisfy the criteria then apply for the job at upsc.gov.in

(i) Age limits :
21-30 years as on 1.7.2012. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories.

c) Obtained a Degree/Diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time or

d) Passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Tele-communication Engineers (India); or

e) Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/ Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or

f) Passed Associate Membership Examination (Sections A and B) of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (India); or

g) Passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November 1959.

h) Passed M.Sc. Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject (only for specified departments).

i) A candidate who has appeared in any one of the above qualifying examination but the result is not known or one who intends to appear is also eligible. Such candidates should provide the necessary documents along with the detailed application which will be required to be submitted by the candidates who qualify on the result of written examination.

The examination shall be conducted according to the following plan :

Part - I Written Examination

The written examination will comprise of 2 Sections - Section I consisting of only objective type questions and Section II of Conventional Papers. Both Sections will cover the entire syllabus of the relevant engineering discipline.

If a candidate who have appeared at an upsc examination but have not recieved the results will also be eligible for admission to the priliminary examination. Hello,
IES and IAS are different examinations. If you are Graduate Major/General, you can appear in the examination of IAS and if you have passed B.tech then you can appear in IES examinations.

Age limit for these exams is 21 to 30 years on 1 August of Exam Year i.e. if you appear in 2012 IES exam then you must have been born not earlier than 02 August 1982 and not later than 1 August of 1991.
