1.civil
2.mechanical
3.electrical
4.etc

because upsc needs any graduates including cse students also to
attempt any exam under the upsc
You may also apply for jobs like...IPS,IFS,IAS,IES,CDS etc
The following graduates also applicable to give upsc exam

Yes , computer engineering students are eligible to apply for Indian Engineering Service as well as Indian Administration Service examination . But both are different examination and both are different responsibilities .

Details about the IES Examination ::

## IES Examination is conducted only for Engineering Candidates and other degree candidates are not eligible .
## Conducted for recruitment of Civil , Mechanical , Electrical , Electronics and Telecommunication .
## If you are not holding the above engineering degree then opt the any of the stream for IES examination .
## Age standards should lies be between 21 years and 30 years .

Stage of IES examination will be Written Exam as well as Personal Interview . Written examination will be consist of General ability , your subject of Objective Paper and Conventional Paper . The application forms are available in the online mode .




Details about the IAS Examination ::

## IAS Post is one of the Responsible Post .
## To become a IAS officer , the student need to holding the degree of graduation .
## Age should be between 21 - 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination .

Stage of IAS Examination will be Written Test ( Prelims and Main ) followed by Personal Interview . Prelims examination will be based on the Current affairs , General knowledge , Decision Making , Logical Reasoning , History of India .... etc the paper divided into two sections . The prelims is objective type examination . Main Examination is divided into nine papers . The paper is Descriptive type examination .

No computer science engineer cannot attend the IES exams conducted by UPSC.
only below stream students can attend the IES exams-
CIVIL
MECHANICAL
ELECTRICAL
ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION

YES you can attend the IAS examination conducted by UPSC
Exams are held in three stages
prelims
mains
interview

Next Prelims exams will be held in may 2013 and exam notification will come out in feb 2013
min educational qualifications is graduation pass

Computer Science student are eligible for both IAS exam as well as IES exam also .

The criteria for the IES exam is below :
-> one should done their B.E. / B.Tech from any recognized university .
-> one age should be between 21-30 for general cast , 21-33 for obc cast , 21-35 for sc/st cast , 21-40 for physically handicapped .

-> In IES exam there are four catagories .
1) Mechanical
2) Civil
3) Electrical
4) Electronics & Telecommunication .

One have to choose the one of the above catagory for giving the exam .
for example , as you are CSE student so that E&TC is best suitable catagory for them .
So every engineers are eligible for the exam but they have to choose one of the above catagory .

The criteria for the IAS exam is below :
-> you should done your graduation from many recognized university .
-> one age should be below :
21-30for general cast
21-33 for obc cast
21-35 for sc/st cast
21-40 for physically handicapped .
-> Maximum attempts that one can give :
4 for general cast
7 for obc cast
no limit for the sc/st cast .

So you are eligible for both of the exams , you should start the preparation for the exam and give it .

the answer of your first question is NO but the answer of second question is YES.

yes dear it is true that only those candidate are eligible to take part in the examination who have completed there graduation in any of the field given below.

1. civil engineering
2. electrical engineering.
3. electronics and telecommunication engineering.
4. mechanical engineering.


but you have no need to worry you can apply for civil services examination next year.

the notification will be released in January 2013 and the exam will held in may 2013 .

you can attend both the UPSC Exams IES and IAS because according to UPSC Guidelines for IES you need Engineering degree in any field and for IAS exam you need graduation in any field.
but the problem for IES is that you have to choose any branch from the following
branches:
1. Civil Engineering
2. Mechanical Engineering
3. Electrical Engineering
4. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

IAS stands for Indian administrative service .IAS exam is conducted by UPSC through Civil Service Exam so if you want to go for IAS exam , you can attend to CSAT exam.

Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.

But your age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

Also you must be in citizen in India.

If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

If you have M.Sc degree in Physics , Radio Physics then you are applicable for IES exam.

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

Number of attempts for IES exam is for general student it is 4., for OBC it is 7 times. and for SC/ST it is 9 time.
