Re: Should I attempt UPSC or not? I work for an IT company. I don't have any knowledge about mains optional subjects. Which optional subjects will you suggest me? Hi Aspirant Yes you can write the civil services exam Upsc is conducting the exam every year and the exam is one of the difficult exam and their is huge number of candidates applying for The exam every year but only few of the students got success Because the competition is very high in the civil services exam And as you said you are working in the It company But in true sense if you really want to work for the country as IAS So you have to leave your job as for the exam at least 15 hours of daily study required As i don't want to miss lead you but it is truth And their is two optional subjects in the main and you can choose them by your wish But Here is the Details of the exam: - The candidate must be pass in Graduation from a recognized Indian university - Also the final year students of the graduation can also apply for the exam Age Criteria: - The candidate age should be between 21-30 - For the obc 21-33 - For the sc,st 21-35 - For the ph 21-40 Number of Attempts: For General : 4 For OBC : 7 For SC,ST : Unlimited Best of luck
Re: Should I attempt UPSC or not? I work for an IT company. I don't have any knowledge about mains optional subjects. Which optional subjects will you suggest me? Yes you are fully eligible for the upsc examination. You can fill the form of upsc ias/ips examination. There are two written exams in upsc. UPSC prelim exam and UPSC Mains exam. In prelim exam you will have to face objective types question which is related with general studies like G.K., English composition etc. This exam is based on class 10 level subjects. In UPSC Mains exam you have to select the subjects. There are total 51 Optional Subjects in which 23 are from main subjects and 28 languages. There are 9 papers in UPSC mains. In paper 1 you have to select language and give the exam for that language subject, like Bangali, Hindi, Marathi, urdu etc. In 2nd paper you have to give the exam of English. These two papers are of 300 marks each. The 3rd paper is of the marks 200 in which you have to give the exam of essay. In 4rth and 5th paper you have to give the exam of general studies. For paper 6 to 9 you have to select two papers in the list. For the list of the subjects Click here You can select the Arts paper which is easier than other subjects. You can select like Sociology, Philosophy, Political Science, History etc. For this you have to read study material of graduation. Best of luck.
Re: Should I attempt UPSC or not? I work for an IT company. I don't have any knowledge about mains optional subjects. Which optional subjects will you suggest me? dear friend, if you have completed graduation then you can apply for UPSC Civil Service exam. and for that your age must be within 21 years to 30 years and there is relaxation in upper age limit: 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST. According to me you can choose History and Geography because these subjects are easy to learn and scoring also. you can apply for these exams online on following official link: http://www.upsconline.org/ Good luck.........
