Good to hear that you want to appear for IES.
But you have work even harder as you have office time.
You need to schedule your time very carefully to find enough time & energy to study for IES.
You can also join evening coaching classes or weekend classes for better preparation.
Keep assessing your performance by solving previous question papers.
Concentrate more on the ones you scoring least.
    Refer standard books.

    Dear friend,

it is good to see that you want to serve the country.

Yes with one year in hand i think it is pretty much possible.

Dont think too much just start right away.

Utilize your free time properly.manage your time properly.

Avoid outdoor meetings, parties etc and focus only on your studies.

    Utilize your week end qualitatively.

Make some long term and short term goals and stick to them religiously.

With hardwork it is very much possible.

    All the best.

    Hi Aspirant,

Of course friend you can do preparation for IES exam and complete syllabus in one year.

Most of things depends upon your dedication and hard work.

IES exam is conducted by UPSC for the post of Assistant executive engineer.

Friend only syllabus is not adequate for the preparation.

You should join any good coaching for the preparation.

Here you can get right direction and latest study material.

You should prepare time table according to the schedule of your office.

Strictly follow the time table and give the quality time to your study.

Study on conceptual base, clear concept and theories.

As you mentioned you forget most of the things.

But it is in your deep mind.

When you will start study, you can easily recover such things.

So prepare for IES exam hopefully.

    Best of Luck

Can I complete IES syllabus in one year that too without affecting my office time? Any suggestions for my preparation? I am a design engineer (Mechanical), working for an MNC since last 6 yrs. I want to seriously attempt IES exam.

    hi,
i am a design engineer (mechanical engg) working with a private firm since last 6 years. Now i feel like giving the IES examination.
My age is 31 right now, but i got the reservation of age relaxation upto 35.
i feel that this is best time to try for IES. After working for MNC's for 6 years i feel that i should work and help my country rather than helping out foreign companies.

I have bought the coaching material form one good private coaching center for IES.
thought i bought it for preparing for 2012, i couldn't.
But this time i definitely want to give a try and started studying in time i get after my office hours (9 am to 8 pm).
Do you feel that in one year i can prepare well , as i need to study from the scratch as i forgot most of the engineering things.
What are your suggestions regarding how to prepare for this ?
