Re: Can I appear UPSC IES exam being a production engineer?a

sorry you can not apply for IES being a production engineer because for becoming an ies officer only civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering students are eligible .
along with that your age should be between
    21-30 years for general category
    21-33 years for obc
and 21-35 years for sc/st category
general category aspirants have 4 attempts for this exam
obc category aspirants have 7 attempts
and sc/st candidates have no limit of attempts for this exam.they can apply for this exam unless they eligible on account of their age criteria .

    Dear Aspirant !

No, you cannot apply for Indian Engineering Service (IES) examination with a production stream in Engineering.

Only those who copmleted engineering in either Electrical/Mecahanical/Civil engineering stream and whose age between 21 to 30 years are only eligible Indian Engineering Service examination.

My Suggestion is better to apply for Civil Services Examination,by your Degree.Civil Service examinations conducted by UPSC once in a year,Notification may be released in the month of Feb/March...

    Good Luck
