you cannot do like that.

upsc allows the candidates to write all papers except the language paper in any of the languages mentioned in the 18th schedule of the constitution.

but you should write only in one medium.attend both the optionals in the same medium either hindi or english.

the detailed information is given in the notification of the upsc in the employment newspaper.for more details refer the edition dated 11-17th feb 2012.

Dear,
Sorry, you can't choose the different type of medium in one examination. Before applying to the DAF of the Main examination, you have to mention the medium of language that you want to appear. That may be English or Hindi or any other regional language which is in the 8th schedule of the constitution. So you have to choose only one medium of language in which you have to appear the whole main examination except English and Essay paper. Thanks...

hi..I have done B.tech and I want to know about medium of IAS papers.
can I give one optional(electrical) exam in english medium and second optional(history) in hindi medium. mean, can I give different papers in different medium
