the minimum educational qualification for Indian ENgineering service exam is an ENgineering degree of any discipline. AS a biomedical engineer you can also apply for this exam. But UPSC conducts IES exam in 4 streams only- mechanical, civil, ELectrical, ECE. so whichever branch you are you have to write in one of these 4. look at the syllabus for each branch and choose one in which you feel that you have some knowledge. THe choice is yours you can write in any of the 4 branches, for more details on syllabus visit www.upsc.gov.in

    Dear,
The UPSC conducts the IES (Indian Engineering Service) only for three trades of Engineering. They are the Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering. So you as the student of the Biomedical Engineering, you are not eligible for the IES examination. But you can apply for the CSAT, CPF(AC) and CDS examination where the qualification is to pass the Bachelors degree at any recognized university in any discipline and the age limit is 21-30 years. The Upper age limit is 03years for OBC and 05 years for the SC/ST candidates. To know more details please visit www.upsc.gov.in Thanks....
