Re: Are there any vacancies for IT engineers in UPSC exam? Am I eligible for UPSC IES exam being a software engineer? Being an IT graduate you are eligible for UPSC exams. List of exams you can apply are: Central Police Forces Examination (CPF) Civil Services Examination Combined Defense Services Examination (CDS) But you are not eligible for Engineering services exam conducted by UPSC. Eligibility for Engineering services Exam: Age Eligibility: You need to be between 21 years to 30 years. Age relaxations exist as per Govt. rules. Academic Eligibility: You must be a graduate in Engineering from a recognized university in Electronics/Civil/Mechanical/Electrical. Even Final year students can also appear in IES exam, provided he/she can provide the proof of passing the exam when IES exam (Written) result comes out, which is around December of every year.
