So I advise you to complete your Graduation 1st after 12th and than apply for Civil Services Examination. >> There are 2 examination rounds involved for UPSC Civil Services examination. Prelims Examination Main Examination Prelims examination are of competitive in nature in order to select the best eligible candidate for Main Examination. Prelims examination have 2 papers which candidate will have to appear : Paper 1 - 200 Marks (Duration : 2 Hours) 1. Current events of national and international importance 2. History of India and Indian National Movement 3. Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World. 4. Indian Polity and Governance � Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights issues, etc. 5. Economic and Social Development � Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc. 6. General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization 7. General Science Paper II - 200 Marks (Duration : 2 Hours) 1. Comprehension 2. Interpersonal skills including communication skills; 3. Logical reasoning and analytical ability 4. Decision making and problem solving 5. General mental ability 6. Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. -Class X level) 7. English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level). 8. Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper. After you clear the prelims examination your next hurdle will be the Main examination for Civil Services. Main Examination will have total 9 Papers altogether. they are divided as follows GENERAL STUDIES: Paper I Paper II Optional Subject 1: Paper I Paper II Optional Subject 2: Paper I Paper II Essay Paper English Paper Language Paper >> the forms will usually be available on the website of UPSC. Candidate have to apply it online in order to appear in UPSC exam. No other method of registration is allowed by UPSC. So forms and notice will be usually announced on the UPSC website. To become an IAS you have to face the UPSC Civil Services Exams. The UPSC Civil Services exams consists of: 1.CSAT/Prelims Exam-consists of paper 1 & paper 2. Clear CSAT to appear in mains exams. 2.Mains Exam-choose your optional subject for mains exam. Clear mains exams to be in the list for interviews. 3.Interviews-it is the test for personality of candidates. The forms for Civil Services Exams applications are now ONLINE,Visit www.upsconline.nic.in to apply by filling online forms. Please note there is no other mode for submitting forms.Now its only online. You have to complete your graduation first after your 12th boards to become eligible to appear in civil services exams. So,in future you will be eligible for this exam. Eligibility Nationality: Indian Citizenship/Persons of Indian Origin. Educatinal Qualifications: Graduation in any discipline from a UGC recognised University. Dear friend, To become an IAS officer you should write the civil services exam which is conducted by the UPSC> you will be eligible for the civil services exam if you will fulfil the following criteria: a)AGE: general category:21 to 30 years obc:21 to 33 years sc/st:21 to 35 years. A candidate must have attained 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years as on 1 august in the year of examination the upper age is relaxable to a maximum of three years for OBC candidates and a maximum of five years for the sc/st candidates etc.. b)QUALIFICATION: the candidate must hold a degree of any of universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislatures of india or declared to be deemed as university under section 3 of the UGC act 1956. so if you have a degree from a recognizeduniversity you are eligible. NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS: general categort:4 attempts obc: 7 attempts sc/st: unlimited attempts. you should fill the form online by accessing the website: www.upsconline.nic.in it is mandatory to fill it online. the commission will not accept the form through any other mode. the detailed instructions for filling the form will be available in the above mentioned website itself. UPSC conducts civil services exam once in ayear.
