Being a nursing graduate, I think you have prior expertise on medical science atleast few topics you could have covered. so better go with that. If you are more interested in statistics, first look at the syllabus and ensure whether you can study alone, because not much coaching is given for subjects as statistics. in 2010, only 16 candidates have chosen statistics as an optional subject and wrote mains. out of them only 1 person cleared the exam, so think and decide. success rate of medical science is comparitively good. As far as coaching centre is concerned, all are equal, its your preparation that matters most. the coaching institute can only guide you

Dear, As you know that this year, a B.sc (Nursing) student got the civil service who is the first nursing student to get the civil service. For scoring well in the examination, choosing of optional paper is very crucial. Your first subject is psychology and it will be the best subject for you. And the second subject, i think, if you select the subject related to your parents subject like medical subject, then it will be better for you. The record of rate of scoring well in the examination on the paper statistics is also well. But it'll be better, if you choose the subject in which you are interested. The institute in Delhi for Civil services is RAu's IAS study center, near Chanakyapuri, New delhi, which is the best coaching institute in the country. Best of Luck
