Suppose, if I am unable to clear interview then should I apply again from starti the notification for appying to UPSC civil services comes every year in the month of Jan/feb. the last date to apply may be in march/april . you can refer upsc.gov.in website for notifications or employmentnews weekly. you have to clear 3 stages of examination -preliminary, mains, interview. Preliminary: 2 papers- 1) general studies 2) CSAT (civil services aptitude) Mains: candidates who cleared prelims, have to attend mains exam, which contains 9 papers 1)English language 2) any of the Indian languages 3) essay 4)general studies-2 papers 5) 2 optional subjects be chosen by the candidate- each subject has 2 papers all the papers are descriptive type and options are of degree standard. candidates who clear mains, are called for interview. In case you fail in any of the stages, again you should start from the first(ie preliminary) Fee structure: for prelims 50 rs. (SC/ST/female candidates are exempted) for mains 200 rs

Suppose, if I am unable to clear interview then should I apply again from starti Dear Jalaj Maheshwari, Greetings, for joining to the post of IAS,IRS etc you are required to appear on civil services examination.at present you can aim for civil services examination 2013 as the preliminary exam has been already conducted for civil services 2012(20th may 2012).start your preparation for the next year exam right from now.UPSC will publish the notification in employment news.wait for the notification and once it is out you should apply online. If the applicant is male belonging to general category then he has to pay a nominal fee of Rs 50 and if the applicant is female or belong to sc/st/obc there is no need to pay any fee. And if you could not clear the interview then again you should repeat the whole process(preliminary, main, interview). No remedy.
