Dear Aspirant

CDS Stands for the common defence services exam

Which is conducting by the upsc twice in a year

And for the exam here is the eligibility required:

-The candidate should be pass in graduation from a recognized indian university

-The candidate age should be between 19-25

-The candidate of final year of graduation can also apply for the exam

Physical :

-The candidate should be physically fit

-The candidate should be not suffering from a diseases

-The height of the candidate for Air Force should be 162.5cm.

-The height of the candidate for military should be 157.5cm.

-The height of the candidate for navy should be 157cm.

-The eye sight of the candidate should be 6/6 with out wearing glasses or wearing glasses

eligibility criteria for CDS examination:-

you should be citizen of india

you should have complete your graduation from recommended university


your age should be in between 19-25


your height should be in between 157cm


you should be mentally physically strong


hearing should be normal

you should not be affected by any disease

CDS exam is conducted to admit the aspirant to the army, navy and airforce. There are eligibility based on the
For admitting the aspirant to army and navy only unmarried make aspirant are eligible.
For offices training academy unmarried male aspirants are eligible
for offices training academy both married and unmarried male aspirant are eligible
for army the eligibility required is a bachelor degree from any discipline.
For navy and airforce the aspirant should have completed degree in engineering.
The physical standard differ with respect to the age. The minimum weight of the aspirant can be 44 kg at the age of 18 with height of 152 cm. The maximum weight of the aspirant can be 78 kg at the age of 22 with height 192 cm. 10% relaxation is allowed for each of the criteria.
The expansion of the chest is 5cm.
The aspirant should have normal hearing and eye sight

An eligibility criterion is the same for all the students even from different streams. U just need to be a graduate. Age limit is 21 to 30 in general category, 21 to 33 in obc, and 21 to 35 in sc/st.

Some important Physical standard for cds are:

1. The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease
2. The minimum acceptable height for male candidates is 157.5 cms. ( 157 cms for Navy and 162.5 cms for Air Force ). For Women candidates minimum acceptable height is 152 cms.
3. There should be no disease of bones and joints of the body.
4. The hearing should be normal
5. A male candidate should be able to read 6/6 in a distant vision chart with each eye with or without glasses. For women candidates the minimum acceptable visual acuity are Distant Vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse 6/18.
6. A candidate should be able to recognise red and green colours.
7. Un-operated hernias will make a candidate unfit. If operated, this should have been done at least 1 year prior to the present examination and healing is completed.
