The acronym for OTA is Officers' Training Academy.


First of all, I would like to tell you that to join OTA, you will have to clear CDS(Combined Defense Services) examination.


CDS examination is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Services Examination) twice every year as CDS-I and CDS-II respectively.


The eligibility criteria required for the OTA wing(CDS examination) are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of graduation in any stream from any recognized college or university.

* Final year contenders are also eligible.

* Percentage criteria is not required.

* Age limit:- 19-25 yrs.

* Sex:- Both male and female.

* Marital status:- Single or unmarried.

* Nationality:- Indian.

* Physically and mentally fit.

OTA-Officers Training Academy-a entry in army.

OTA is a entry that offers you short service commission to cadre that is a service of term of 14 years.

Your qualification-English with second division

CDSE(OTA)-qualification
Graduation in any stream,with out any percentage issues.
Age-19 to 25 years-at the time of commencement of the course,not at the time of applying

Depending upon educational qualification,this is only entry for you in OTA.

The Acronym "OTA" stands for Officer`s Training Academy. If you want to join OTA then you have to crack the Combined Defense Services Exam.

The Combined Defense Services Exam is conducted twice every year by the Union Public Service Commission in the months of February and September.

The Combined Defense Services Exam is conducted for the joining of candidates in any of the following wings of Indian Defense :

1) Naval Academy

2) Indian Military Academy

3) Air Force Academy

4) Officer`s Training Academy

The Minimum educational qualification required for CDS Exam is graduation in any stream from any UGC recognized university.

There is no any specific percentage required in graduation to be eligible for the CDS Exam.

The Age Limit for the CDS Exam :

1) For Naval Academy : 19-22 yrs

2) For Air Force Academy : 19-23 yrs

3) For Indian Military Academy : 19-24 yrs

5) For Officer`s Training Academy : 19-25 yrs

Both Male and Female candidates are considered eligible to appear for the CDS Exam.

Moreover , only those candidates can appear in exam who are either :

- A Citizen Of India, OR

- A Subject of Nepal, OR

- A Subject of Bhutan.

generally upsc requires graduated candidates or those candidates who completed engineering from a recognized.

there is no particular required for the upsc exams.

-->> CDS Examination will be held on 16 / 09 /12 .

-->> UPSC Started Issuing the hall ticket or Admit cards .

you just need to score atleast minimum passing percentage in graduation to apply for the OTA,

there is no percentage bar required for the OTA,

Eligibility criteria for OTA:

1. Candidate must have completed graduation or engineering from a recognized university .
2. candidates who appearing in final year of graduation or engineering can also apply for the upsc exams.
3. age limit for the upsc exams is 19 to 25 years.
4. age relaxation of 3 years is given to those candidates who belongs to OBC category .
5. age relaxation of 5 years is given to those candidates who belongs to sc category.

their is no any requirement for the percentage in the ota.
For applying in ota the candidate have to apply for thr central defense service exam which is going to be held on 16-09-2012.

thee following are the requirement for cds which are necessary to fulfill

1. a candidate should have pass graduation from a recognized university
2. candidate should be an indian
3. candidate age should be 19 to 25 years.
4. candidate should be physical fit
5. the eyesight of the candidate should be 6/6
6. the height and the weight of the candidate should be according to the rules and regulations of the notification

candidate can also get notification from the university website or from the employment newspaper.

Eligibility Criteria for O.T.A:-

The age should be between 19 years and 25 years and only unmarried male or only unmarried females� candidates are eligible.
The candidate should have a graduate degree from any recognized university or equivalent qualification.
Candidates who are appearing in the final year of degree course can also apply for this examination.

So no specific percentage is required.

O.T.A. stands for OFFICERS TRAINING ACADEMY.
By applying in C.D.S. exam, you can join O.T.A.
C.D.S. stands for COMBINED DEFENSE SERVICE EXAM.
This examination is conducted by U.P.S.C.
Don't worry about percentage.
Only after passing Graduation you can apply for this.
Any graduate holder is eligible to apply.

For Officers Training Academy(O.T.A.), 2012:-

- Both male & female candidates can apply for the exam.
- Candidate's age must be 19-25 years.
- Candidate must be a degree holder.
- Candidates must have completed their graduation from recognized university.
- Candidate must be physically fit.
- Candidate must be Indian citizen.

Date of notification:- 02.06.2012
Last date for submission of form:- 02.07.2012(Monday)

-You do not need any specific percentage of marks to appear for the OTA Exams.
-THE ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT IS TO HOLD A DEGREE OF GRADUATION,OR EQUIVALENT FROM AN UGC RECOGNIZED UNIVERSITY.
THEREFORE,QUALIFYING THE GRADUATION WITH PASS MARKS IS JUST ENOUGH.
-Also,You must be a citizen of India.
-And,You must be of 20-25 yrs of age.Upper age limit is relaxable by 5yrs for all backward classes.

-The minimum marks required to qualify these exams depends upon the performance of the candidates in every exam.

i have passed my graduation in english honours in 2nd division .
So i need to know about the requirement of the grade or division in army for ota?

And please let me know about the marks to be obtained in the exam which i would appearing for ie; cds/ota
