Yes Dear, as others suggest I would aiso like to follow the same path. Go for those subjects in which you feel comfortable, ease and has previous knowledge. Its better to go for Arts subjects such as History, Geography, psychology or science subjects such as maths, physics and chemistry.....Good Luckkk... Re: My stream in engineering was Computer Science. Let me know which subjects to choose from the available optional subject list of UPSC. Attachment 4472 Hi Aspirant, I thing you want to be appear in Civil Service exam conducted by UPSC. CS Exam is organized once in a year for the recruitment of post of IAS, IPS or IRS etc. Friend you computer science is not include in the list of optional subject for mains exam. So you will have to choose some other subject. Here I write the list of optional subject published by UPSC. Agriculture Animal husbandry & vetinary science Anthropology Botany Chemistry Civil engineering Commerce and accountancy Economics Geography Indian History Law Management Mathematics Mechanical engineering Medical science Philosophy Physics Political science & international relations Psychology Sociology Statistics Zoology Friend it would be some difficult to choose the subject for you because no subject belong to your stream. In such case you should choose in which you are interested and you have studied at Intermediate level like Physics, chemistry, Bio, History and Geography. I think History, Geography and Psychology are good as optional subject. This subject will also help you in the paper of general studies. The paper of general study is included in prelims exam as well as mains exam. So it will be very helpful for the study of general science and will cover your one subject. Brood over my suggestion, it will be really helpful for you. Best of Luck
