    There are only two paper in CSAT exam
    General Studies Paper I :
    Current events of national and international importance
    History of India and Indian National Movement
    Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World.


    General Studies Paper II :
    Comprehension
    Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
    Logical reasoning and analytical ability

    Total Marks : 200
    Total Duration : 2 Hours

    CSAT stands for the Civil Service Aptitude test.It is the first stage of the civil services examinations.

    The syllabus is as below:


    AFter clearing this test ,you have to give the Main examination and personal interview.

    Dear Friend,

    UPSC Civil Services Exam will have 2 papers in CSAT.
    General Studies Paper I
    General Studies Paper II

    Following is the syllabus of both the papers for your reference.

    General Studies Paper I :
    1. Current events of national and international importance
    2. History of India and Indian National Movement
    3. Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World.
    4. Indian Polity and Governance � Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
    5. Economic and Social Development � Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
    6. General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization
    7. General Science

    Total Marks : 200
    Total Duration : 2 Hours

    General Studies Paper II :
    1. Comprehension
    2. Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
    3. Logical reasoning and analytical ability
    4. Decision making and problem solving
    5. General mental ability
    6. Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. -Class X level)
    7. English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level).
    8. Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.

    Total Marks : 200
    Total Duration : 2 Hours

    So now start preparing for the examination.
    The earlier you start preparing the better will be the chance to cover maximum syllabus.

    syllabus for CSAT:
    1) English comprehension (passage and questions will be in English only)
    2) general comprehension ( passage and questions will be both in English and hindi)
    3) Quantitative aptitude
    general mental ability, basic numeracy (class X level)
    4) Data interpretation
    questions will be based on given bar diagrams, graph,tables
    5) data sufficiency
    6) logical reasoning
    like syllogism, analytical ability
    7) Decision making and problem solving
