Re: I am the student of B.Tech 2nd year now, So what should I do right now if I am Interested in IES?

Indian Engineering Service (IES) examination is conducted by the UPSC in every year. Here i give you the details eligibility criteria for the IES examination.

Eligibility criteria for the IES examination.
->> Degree in B.Tech. Final semester candidates may also apply.
->> The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of examination.

NOTE :- Computer science and Information technology branch is not eligible to apply for the IES examination.

So, if you are interested in the IES examination then first complete your B.Tech degree and then think about the IES examination. You can apply in the final semester of B.Tech course.

For any more information about the IES examination please visit the official website of the UPSC :~ http://www.upsc.gov.in

    Hi Friend!

Your goal is crystal clear now.

So, You need to know the qualifications for the IES exam:

Educational qualification : A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical or Mechanical or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

    Age : General:21-30yrs, OBC:21-33yrs, SC/ST : 21-35yrs

Note : There's a considerable age relaxation for the categories like Blind,Deaf-Mute etc.

If your stream is in any of those four, then you can write IES.

Then check the pattern of the exam. See the previous year question papers at
    http://www.upsc.gov.in/

Then you'd come to know where you need to concentrate.

    Concentrate on that.

You can write the exam when you're in your final year also.

    More rehearsals are also important!

For details about the notification at :
    http://www.upsc.gov.in/

    I wish you all SUCCESS!!

    hey...
its possible without joining coaching institute but for this you have to do more effort in comparision to that if you join a coaching institute
because by joining a coaching institute you got a guideline for your preparation.
but you are a 2nd year student then now you have to concentrate on your core subjects which is your syllabus
and you may buy the objective questions book of these subjects and you have to solve last year question of IES.
from this you will get a idea of the question come in the IES paper.
