    Dear Friend,

There is no need to get confused regarding these questions you asked for, there is a way where ever there is a will. If you are determined in going for Civil Service Examination, then these points will guide you as recommended by me.

    1. As long as language is concerned if Hindi is your mother tongue then just go for it, because there is no other language in this world which can express the feeling and thoughts so exactly like mother tongue does, So if your mother tongue is Hindi just go for it. If not and you are not clear whether you can have a good approach in Hindi then go for English because it will help you in English(Qualifying Paper) in Mains too.

    2. Selection of subject for mains depends only on what is your background. I recommend to take geography and anyone of pol sci or pub ad. Make geography as fixed because you can easily score more marks in geography from the revised pattern of geography from CSE 2008. More over the mapping session contains 120 marks which can be easily achieved with just one moth practice. If you choice political science as an optional you should be ready to read every phrase of our constitution and should read atleast 2 newspapers daily. Public Administration is good if you have a very good memory power because you have remember every law and its years.

    3. We cannot be sure in change of pattern for mains till now and even if changes, then geography will definitely give hand for Indian Geography session in General Studies and Pol Sci is a boon for General Studies as it will cover most of the topics like economics, Indian polity , constitution etc. So if change of pattern occurs go for Geography and Political Science.

If you find my advice useful mail me to [email protected] and i am ready to guide you in all ways possible.

    All the best.
