Dear Aspirants ,

For IFS exam candidate should be graduate from any recognized university and also can apply in last year of graduation.

It does not matter that in which fields you are passing your graduation only it is compulsory that you should be graduate.

Candidate must be under 21-30 years , 3 years of age relaxation for BC candidates and 5 years of age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

I am sorry to say that you are not eligible for Indian Forest Service Examination.But you can write Civil Service Examination.

Educational qualification required to write IFS exam is

Graduation in one of these subjects:-

Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor�s degree in Agriculture, Forestry

or

Engineering Graduation
Age limit:- 21-30 for general category

21-33 for OBC

21-35 for SC/ST

Preliminary Examination is common for Civil Service and Indian Forest Service.So one who wish to apply has to specify it on the application form.After the common screening test separate list will be prepared for the candidates eligible to appear in the Civil Service Main Examination and Indian Forest Service Main Examination.

The qualified candidates of preliminary examination can write main examination.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts IFS (Indian forest service) examination once in a year.
UPSC IFS Exam Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification: The candidate must hold a Bachelor�s degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor�s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of recognized Universities.

Age: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, 2013
upper age limit is relaxed for 3 year for OBC , 5 year for SC/ST & certain other categories.

Number of Attempts: Maximum of 4 attempts are allowed at the IFS examination. No restriction for SC/ST candidates and 07 attempts for OBC Candidates.

The minimum qualification required is Graduation from any stream.You can apply for the exam BUT you must check the subjects given in the list.Because the subjects are limited and not like Civil services.Your choice of paper may not even be in the list of subjects for which exams will be conducted.You can apply being a graduate but check the subjects and apply only if you think you can qualify the exam by appearing in any 2 of those subjects.

You can apply for IFS if you have these subject in Graduation

Graduation with at lest one of the subject namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology OR
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry OR in Engineering of any of University

I think you have none of these subject in BA
So you can not apply

Eligibility Criteria For Indian Forest Services Exam 2013 :

Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in any one of the following disciplines to apply for IFoS exam :

Chemistry, Botany, Physics, Mathematics, Zoology, Geology, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Forestry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Seed Science and Technology, horticulture or any other equivalent subject or Candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Agriculture - In any discipline from a recognized university.

Candidate's age must be between 21-30 years and relaxation in age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/STs and 3 years for OBC category candidates.

If you have completed your Bachelor of Application degree with any one of these above mentioned subjects then you are eligible to apply for this exam and if not then there is no chance for you to apply for this exam.

• Indian forest services (IFS) examination is conducted by UPSC every year.
• As per the eligibility, you need to have the bachelor degree in any of these subjects like Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology.
• OR you must have Bachelor��s degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering.

so being a graduate you become eligible for IFS exam ;

Eligibility criteria for IFS:
1.Age limit is 21-30 years.
2.OBC and SC/ST category gets age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years respectively.
3.Candidates should fulfill the adequate physical standards.
4.GRADUATION from a recognized university with atleast one of the subjects namely:

Sorry dear a normal Bachelor of Arts degree is not eligible for the Indian Forest services Exam.

To apply for the exam you need a Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a degree in Agriculture or Forestry or
Engineering of a recognized University.
Also there is an age limit of 21-30 years for the applicants too.

The eligibility criteria for IFS ..1)The age of the candidate [FONT=Georgia, sans-serif]must be between 21 yrs to 30 yrs before 1st july of 2012.
2)Candidate must be a Graduate from any Government recognized University.
As the selection is done on the basis of written exam and then personal interview anyone can apply if s/he fulfill the above mentioned criteria.[/FONT]

If i qualified B.A.(normal) then am i applied in INDIAN FOREST OFFICERS exam? If not then what i do for this examination?
