By the Maths question in the CSAT, your basic ability to accuracy and calculation will be judge.

Question will be on percentage, average, age time and work, time and distance, profit and loss and provability.

For this you need to polish up your school level numeracy, algebra, etc. Studying and practice the NCERT school books.

Hi Aspirant,

The mathematics question are asked in General studies 2^nd paper but the exam pattern is not so tough.

The question type is based on 10^th or intermediate level.

The question pattern may be basic or a decision making pattern.

So don�t worry for the mathematics problem.

You should only practice of mathematics question regularly.

You should learn the tricky solution of math question.

To learn the tricks and preparation for civil exam join the coaching institute where you could get guidance in right direction.

Use reference books and NCERT books for the preparation.

You can also practice of previous year question paper to understand the exam pattern of mathematics paper.

CSAT includes three divisions of mathematical questions:

1. Basic Numeracy(numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.)
2. Data Interpretation(charts, graphs, tables, etc)
3. Data Sufficiency

Basic Numeracy:

1. Numbers and their properties
2. Arithmetic
3. Algebra
4. Geometry
5. Modern Maths

Data Interpretation:

Data will be represented in the form of tables, bar graphs, line graphs, pie charts, combinational graphs etc. Data interpretation involves

• Calculation
• Counting and
• Reasoning based questions.

Data Sufficiency:

In this a question will be followed by two statements and you will be expected to answer whether the information provided in the individual statement or collectively is sufficient to answer the question.

-The type of questions keep on changing , but what must remain same is the quality of knowledge you have to solva any type of question related to
your concepts knowledge.

-The beauty of mathematics as a subject in the main examination is that you can be very selective, yet completely safe.

-Your efforts should be aimed at developing quality of approach rather than a broad coverage of the course.

-The candidates must practice a lot on important sections and they should take care to give derivation in all the cases if the result is a subsidiary one.

- In case of standard results, there is no need to give derivation of an equation, until specifically asked to.

Keep these points in mind and work hard accordingly.
