Sorry to say that girls have no scope in the National defense academy exams as the girls are not eligible for the NDA/NA entrance exam as per the eligibility criteria issued by the UPSC.

So please do not worry ,if you are so much interested in joining defense and serving for the country ,UPSC gives opportunity to girls to join the defense at bachelor's degree level by clearing the Combined defense services exam which is also conducted twice every year by the UPSC.

Academic requirements:

It varies from academy to academy ,for the Indian military academy and officers training academy it is bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university .Final year candidates can also apply for the exam.

For Indian naval academy it is bachelor's degree in engineering /technology and for the Air force academy it is compulsory that you must have studied maths and physics at 10+2 level also you should have bachelor's degree.

The age limit is :

IMA:19-24 years

INA:19-22 years

AFA:19-23 years

OTA:19-25 years

You must be an Indian citizen.Physical fitness is necessary.

for this they need to crack the CDS exam called as combined defense service exam.

CDS exam ,aspirants can join any one of the defense field of

-army wing
-navy wing
-air force wing

***you can not appear for NDA EXAM ,NDA exam strictly mention only unmarried male..

LIKE NDA ,CDS EXAM conduct by upsc (union public service commission). and held 2 times in a year.

**to apply for CDS EXAM ,one must and should satisfy its eligibility criteria which are listed below

-age limit=minimum age is 19 years and maximum age limit is 26 years

Well NDA stands for National Defence Academy.

It is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Comission twice a year only for unmarried male candidates.So you as a girl not eligible for NDA exam.

The following are the criteria for writing NDA exam

�� You must be an Indian Citizen

�� You should complete 12th.

�� Your age must lie between 16.5 - 19 years

�� You must be physically and mentally fit.



Through NDA exam candidate can join in following

+ Indian Army

+ Indian Navy and

+ Indian Airforce.


Though you can't join in these feild through NDA exam,you can join in these through CDS (Combined Defence Service Exam) after completing your bachelor degree.

i am extremely sorry to say that being a girl candidate you have no hope in NDA(National Defence Academy). In NDA exam girls are not allowed to apply for the exam. In NDA only unmarried male candidates with age within 16.5 years to 19 years and 12th qualification are allowed to apply for NDA exam. So sorry to say you are not eligible to apply for NDA exam.

but there are various other ways through you can join Defence Services. you can join defence through CDS OTA exam. the exam is conducted by UPSC twice every year. for CDS OTA your age must be within 19 years to 25 years and you must have graduation degree in any discipline.

you can also join defence through SSC exam.

After graduation girls can apply for CDS exam if their age lies between 19 to 25 years.

There is also women special entry scheme for NCC �C� certificate with Atleast B grade in senior division of NCC for 2 academic years. You have to apply for this entry and they will shorlist the applicants for direct SSB interview.

In CDS exam there is objective type paper that you have to pass to qualify for SSB interview.
SSB is of 5 days duration in which you will be tested mentally and physically.

You can not join the defense after the 12th on the basis of NDA ( National Defense Academy).After completing your graduation on in the last year of your graduation you are eligible for the CDS exam. Following some details about the CDS exam.

Combined defense service exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. And the exam held twice in a year. If you have a Graduation from any recognized university then you can join the defense. Following are the eligibility conditions for the CDS exam.

Sorry Girls can't write NDA exam... IT is meant only for boys.... But they can give CDS exam with minimum of bachelor degree from any college which is approved by government under UGC act.... And age limit is 19 to 25....

So Girl can not apply for this exam. But she can apply other defence exam like:

In nda there is no scope at all for women candidates.because this nda is meant only for male candidates after the completion of 12th with pcm they can appear nda.during the period of nda candidates are to go through a tough training which is absolutely impossible for a women to do so nda is only for male.

There are other scopes for women-
they can face combined defence service examination
each male or female candidate have to complete graduation.
And must be their age betwween 19 years to 25 years.
Woman can face tgc,afmc,and ues scheme.

No Girls cannot Join NDA after 12th exams because the NDA is only for the Single Male candidates.
The Training course is tough here so that's why the girls candidates are not eligible to appear for the NDA exams.
But there are other was in which you can join Indian Defence Service like:
CDS(COMMON DEFENCE SERVICES)
TGC(TECHNICAL GRADUATE COURSE)
AFMC(ARMED FORCES MEDICAL COLLEGE)
UES SCHEME
for this you have to follow the criteria

you must be a citizen of india
you should have complete your graduation from recommended university
your age should be in between 19-25
your height should be in between 157cm
you should be mentally physically strong

I am not sure about the NDA but girls can definitely join the forces after completing their graduation. In addition to that, girls can join the AFMC (Armed Forces Medical College) after passing Class 12.

as girls are physically not strong as the boys are and there are our social rules for girls which are important for joining.They have quota in exam that means goverment face difficulties and boys are not selected for the MDA. It is ture but girl are not physically strong as boys

Sorry to say there is no scope for girls in the NDA exam.

Female candidates are not eligible for the exam.

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for the exam

Age limit is the 16.5 years to 19 years.

If girls want to go with army, navy, air force through upsc exam then they give the cds exam.

This conducted bi-annually.

For this exam qualification and age limit is different for different department.

There is no age relaxation for the reserve category

No limit to attempt the exam for each category.

The Indian military academy graduation in any stream from the recognized university.

The officer training academy graduation in any stream from the recognized university.

The Indian air force graduation in science stream from the recognized university.

Indian Maltery Accedmay age limit is: 19 to 24 Years

For Officer Training Academy age limit: 19 to 25 years

Naval age limit: 19 to 22 years

Indian air force age limit: 19 to 23 years

You can only opt for defence after your graduation.

Dear aspirant,

Girls are not eligible to join any defence services after 10+2 . If girls have to join defence then they should be atleast graduates in any discipline from a recognised university.

After graduation girls can apply for CDS exam if they satisfy the age criteria which is 19 to 25 years.

There is also women special entry scheme for NCC �C� certificate with Atleast B grade in senior division of NCC for 2 academic years. You have to apply for this entry and they will shorlist the applicants for direct SSB interview.

In CDS exam there is objective type paper that you have to pass to qualify for SSB interview.
SSB is of 5 days duration in which you will be tested mentally and physically.
