    Dear Aspiraint

In order to appear in civil service examination thier are two main things AGE and Qualification
In case of general candidate the age must between 21 to 30years
and he /she must be graduate from recognized university percentage has no barrier in these examination
and also there are only 4 attempts for general candidate
so if above criteria is fulling you qualification and age you can apply for the examination
for cracking the prelimnary examination you have to give time for preaperation as well as be paitent
    Best of Luck

    Dear,
The UPSC demands the qualification as to pass the bachelors degree at any recognized university. There is no restriction of percentages in the qualifying examination. The age limit is within 21-30years. The age relaxation is 03years for OBc and o5years for SC/ST candidates. There is only 04 chances for the general candidates and 07 chances for the OBC candidates and unlimited chances for SC/ST candidates. The most important thing for the preparation is the well-planned proper time table. A proper time management will give you the sure success. The books for the preliminary examination is TataMcgrawhill's General Study. The books for the optional paper should be chosen after choosing of the optional subjects. Hello, I have done my bachelor's in civil engineering from mumbai university but my percentage in my final year is 45%. Also I have completed my master's in civil engineering from University of Texas with 3.3/4 GPA which is close to 80%. Currently I am based in US but I want to come to India to give my civil service exams. My questions are:
    1. Am I eligible for civil service exams?
    2. If I am, what is the preparation time for the same?
    3. Which books are best for the civil service exams?

Thanks a lot for your help
