No Bio-tech is not included in the list of optionals.

Here is the list of subjects excluding literature subjects.

You can find similar subjects on the list like... medical sciences, zoology, botany, chemistry etc... which may be familiar to you.
Since you would have studied these before bio-tech, it would be helpful for you to pick among these..
