Dear Aspirants,

Civil services exam is conducts by union public service commission once in every year.

Candidate should be graduate and also can apply in last year of graduation.

Age Limit :-

GEN : 21-30 years
BC : 21-33 years
SC/ST : 21-35 years

3 years of age relaxation for BC candidates and 5 years of age relaxation for SC/ST candidates and also for government employee and 10 years of age relaxation for physically handicapped candidates.

If you comes under General category then sorry to say that you are not eligible for civil services exam. If you comes under other category then you are eligible for civil services exam.

I�m sorry but there is no age relaxation in giving the ias exam just because you are an employee of a state government. The reservations are made only through the caste system. There is a relaxation of 3 years for the obc category and there is a relaxation of 5 years for the sc/st category.
therefore if you belong to the obc or the sc/st category then only you can give the exam at the age of 31

Unless you belong to the minority cluster of individuals like the OBC or the SC/STs,you are not blessed with any such age relaxation within the UPSC government officials EXAMS.
Being a government worker underneath the geographic region Government forms no criteria for age relaxation of any kind.
However,There is a relaxation in higher ordinance by 3yrs for OBCs and upto five yrs for the SC/STs.

if you're a SC/ST or OBC candidate then you'll apply however if you're general candidate then sorry however your age isn't eligible for the upsc exams..

eligibility criteria for upsc exams is :

candidate should have completed graduation or engineering from a recognized university.
final year showing candiadates can even apply for the upsc communicating.
ordinance for upsc communicating is twenty one to thirty years.
candidates happiness to OBC and SC/ST class gets age relaxation of three years and five years severally.

SC/ST class gets age relaxation of five years.

if you are a general candidates then sorry dear but you not eligible for upsc exam because for general age should be 21 to 30 years and your age now 31 years .


AGE RELAXATION :-

for obc = 3 years so age should be 21 to 33 years.

for sc/st = 5 years so age should be 21 to 35 years.


if you belong to these categories then your eligible if not then your not eligible for UPSC EXAM.

You may get an age relaxations for appearing in the civil services examination of UPSC provided you are from the reserved category. The UPSC as it's related to central government, the age relaxations is not provided to state government employees. The age limit stated if you are from general category is 21 years to 30 years. That's makes you not eligible. However if you are from obc category then the age limit is 21 years to 33 years. That's makes you eligible. However if you are from sc/st category, then the age limit is 21 years to 35 years.

If you are belong to General Category you can not apply for Civil Services Exam. Because you are over age.

There is no relaxation for state Government employees.

There is relaxation only for Central Government Employees.

If you belong to SC/ST or OBC Category then you can apply otherwise you can not apply.

No one is clearing your doubt.

- Well UPSC provides upper age relaxation to government employee for sitting in UPSC exams.

- But this is only given to central government departments employees.

- As you are serving in state government department so you will not get this relaxation.

- So at the age of 31 you will now only get the chance to sit if you belong to any reserved class like SC/ST/OBC etc.

I am sorry to say that you are not eligible to get any age relaxation being a punjab government employee.

The age relaxations are provided to :

>>Other backward caste candidate

>>SC/ST

>>Physicall challenged persons

>>Ex-serviceman


For example in case of civil services :

OBC: three years age relaxation

SC/ST : five years

Physically challenged : 10 years

Dear, being a Punjab Govt. Employee you can't get any relaxation. Are you belongs to General Caste? If yes than, you can go for State Public Service Commission for Gazetted posts. And if you are belongs to OBC/SC/ST than you can continue.....with UPSC...

because age relaxation only for minority groups like sc/st or obc category candidate of 5 and 3 years respectively.

yes there is an age relaxation for govt. employee but only for CENTRAL GOVT EMPLOYEE .

your age must be within 21 years to 30 years.

And there is relaxation in UPPER AGE limit for reserved category candidates(3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates).

AGE RELAXATION for Centeral Government Employs :

the relaxation is for central government employs only. and it is 5 years for general , 8 years for OBC and 10 years for SC/ST.

And relaxation will be given to the sc.st of 5 year

And for the obc 3 year

And relaxation will be given to the ex serviceman of 5 year

Dear Candidate,
Unless you belong to the minority group of people such as the OBC or the SC/STs,you are not endowed with any such age relaxation in the UPSC CIVIL SERVICE EXAMS.
Being a government employee under the Punjab Government forms no criteria for age relaxation of any type.
However,There is a relaxation in upper age limit by 3yrs for OBCs and upto 5 yrs for the SC/STs.

You will be definitely eligible if you are an OBC/SC/STs but you will not be eligible if you are a General candidate as because the age limit for each category is as follows:
