Re: Who conducts UPSC exams? Central Govt or State Govt? Firstly UPSC is not an examination , it's an organisation which conducts the examination for various posts and different departments. UPSC stands for union public service commission. No Central government or state government conduct the examination. But central government authorises the Upsc to conduct the examination. It's conducted only for central government posts not for state government posts.

The UPSC Is itself a authority or Government organisation and in reality they conduct the Examination themselves . The State Government has no hand in conducting the UPSC Examination .

It conducts many examinations in India.Few exams are following- 1.National Defence Academy Exam. 2.Combined Defence Services Examination. 3.Indian Police Services. UPSC submit annual report to the Indian president.

See,UPSC stands for Union Public Service Commision. --> It is an authorized organisation that conduct various exams such as Civil Services,NDA,Nava Academy Exam and many more. --> The Commission consists of a Chairman and ten Members. --> The Chairman and other members of the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) are appointed by the President of India. So neither the Central nor the State Government have control over UPSC exam. Bye!
