you can choose the chemistry and physics subjects being a

engineer. as these subjects you have read in your engineering and

you might be have knowledge of these subjects which will help you

to crack the exam.

Tips for Preparation:

• first and most important Manage your Time table and maintain your self calm and Cool.
• go ahead according to UPSC Syllabus.
• you can start for UPSC by study 6th to 12th NCERT books.
• increase your general knowledge, continuous reading news papers and magazines, concentrate on English.
• solving Previous year question papers is most requisite part of preparation.

chemistry, so in my point of view you have chosen relevant subject according to your educational profile.Chemistry is well familiar subject of you and you chosen geography as one another subject, Geography will be helpful for the preparation of general studies subject. Hello Friend,

There is a process to choose optionals. You must follow it to get the best ones. Firstly, strike out the subjects from the complete list that you think you can't take in any circumstances. Secondly, go through the syllabus of each of remaining subjects and select the ones that you think you can manage. Thirdly, ask your more than one seniors who have actually given the exam with those subjects. Finally, make the decision about the subjects.

Mind it, the final decision will be yours and it must be based more on your interest in the subject, availability of good study material, availability of good tutor/guide in case you need some help during your preparation. Don't go by the experience of a single person. There is no set subject that gels wel with Chemistry or with any other subject. It is an aspirant that makes one subject work with the others.
