IAS & IPS both are difference post.

In IAS (Indian Administrative Service) post you can become as district collector in future.

In IPS (Indian Police Service) post you can become as Indian Police Officer in future.

So, both options you have its only depends on you that what post you can choose for your future.

IAS and IPS are part of civil services.
IAS is the administrative services that deals with the administration of area. sometimes a township or village or any government department where you are posted as a administrative officer (diff names). your duty is to administrate that area which is posted. This job is most glamorous job perceived by millions to get in through. when you are in this job your are in the most prestigious job in India
IPS is the police services where you are to maintain order in the area or in any of the government departments. your main idea is policing and you control the police department of the area where you are posted. similar to the IAS this is also most prestigious to live upon
