civil service exam is one of the prestigious exam conducted by UPSC for recruitment to various All India services.
Educational Qualification Required:
1.The candidate must possess a bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
2.The Final year students are also eligible to apply for the exam.

In the civil service exam candidates are allow to choose 2 optional subject from the following subject:
1.Agriculture
2.Animal Husbandry
3.Veterinary science
4.Anthropology
5.Botany
6.chemistry
7.physics
8.zoology
9.mathematics
10.political science
11.sociology
12.Psychology
13.phylosophy
14.history
15.economics
16.public Administration
17.literature
18.others
The selection of the subject/stream is depends on students interest & choice.

Dear if you have passed class 10th then this time is the most important time for you to turn your career because this time you have to choose the best stream for your career which could support you to make your career brighter in future but dear if you are willing to apply for civil services and wants to crack the civil service examination then you should know that there is no subject which could help you to crack the civil services examination because the prelims examination contains two papers - General Studies and CSAT so that you have to prepare with a different syllabus and different subject and there would be all following subjects included

History
Geography
Science and Technology
Constitution
Current Affairs
Reasoning
Mathematics
English Language
General Knowledge part

And then the mains examination contains the following list of subjects from which you have to choose any two for preparation of mains examination

Dear as you can see the list of various subjects from which you can choose any two for mains examination but you would only be eligible for mains examination when you will qualify the prelims examination by securing the minimum qualifying marks according to the category and board standards

Dear so that you should choose any subject in which you are much interested means if your interest says that you should choose science then you may take that subject for class 11th and 12th and if you are interested in any other then you can choose that subject for your 12th class examination and complete your board classes but dear still you have to focus at your board classes and when you complete then you need to join any good coaching institute and you should join when you get admission in college and prepare for the examination till 2 years

When you comes in final year of the degree then you need to apply for civil service prelims examination and if you would prepare before the time then it would be great for your career and your success so that start preparation from now

Dear Friend you can choose any stream after 10th for Civil Service Exam

You should select subject according to your choice and your interest
In which subject you are interested you should select those

For Civil Service Exam you must complete your Graduation

Age must be between 21-30 year

You can chose any stream after 10th if you want to become IAS officer in future but all is needed is you should be interested in the stream .In my opinion you can opt for Bachelors in Arts as it will be possible for you to start your preparation with your studies.

And other options are as follows:

1.Science (Non Medical)

2.Science(Medical)

3.Commerce..

All depends on your interest..

To crack Civil Services Exam you must choose Arts Stream with Indian History and Geography. Because These two subjects are very helpful for cracking UPSC exams. Because these two subjects you can choose as optional subjects for mains exam. If you take Math as another subjects in 11th it would helpful for you in prelims exam.

u can study any course. because a degree in any stream can apply for CIVIL SERVICE EXAM.
u can choose 1st group with maths+physics+chemistry+biology.
these subjects will be very useful for CIVIL SERVICE EXAM.

it depends upon ur field of interest
being a PCM/PCB/COMMERCE/ARTS student does not matter

Basically the stream is not a factor anymore because students from all the fields are appearing for IAS but still if you ask me,arts can be an option as social sciences are a vital part in civil services.Good Luck!

to crack civil services exams after 10th you must select electronics science and then mechanical engineering.i hope that you crack it.ALL THE BEST!

you should go for arts as it is would be helpful for you in civil services. you can chose history,public administration,political science.you have a lot of time to prepare as civil services asks for graduation.

and choose math,english,history,geography and public administrative as your main subject

The best option for you to choose is ARTS.
As you have decided pretty early what you want to achieve in life,the combination of arts would be just perfect for you.
With HISTORY,GEOGRAPHY,PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION and LANGUAGES as your main subjects,you will be on the inevitable path to achieve success if you work hard.

In 11th you can take any Maths or bio. its up to you you should take that subjects which interests you more....

its better to take maths-biology. Try to concentrate on current affairs and be updated of all general knowledge queries, politics, history of india.

U can chose any subject, but arts r preffarble however u vcan take any subject and prepared 4 it. But in gs portion u may b helped by arts background.
